The car ride was awkward and silent. Jack still had absolutely no idea what was going on despite his consistent pleads to know exactly what was going on and where we were going.

"So like anyone going to tell me where we're going? Or am I just wasting Mrs. Johnson's gas?" Jack asked Mallory and Johnson through the rear view mirror. They both seemed uninterested in anything, crossed arms looking out the window. As I looked to Jack his face had gone from a face of confusion to one of anger.

"Just pull into the diner" I gripped Jack's free hand and motioned to the upcoming diner.

As Jack put the car in park we had both gotten out like the adults we are. Jack and I made eye contact across the hood of the car and a look of annoyance flashed across both our faces as we both noticed that Johnson and Mallory hadn't gotten out. Jack opened Mallory's side as I opened Johnson's.

"Guys get out of the car" Jack huffed but they didn't budge

"I have five year olds that listen better than you two. This was supposed to be my night off and here you are acting like children" I motioned to them and they both looked my way "we can do this one of two ways. I can tell Jack what's going on out here in the parking lot in front of everyone. Or. We can go inside and have a grown up conversation so I'm going to say this one more time. Get out of the damn car!" I demanded and with that they got out and followed Jack and I inside

"For four please" Jack smiled to the waitress she led us to a small booth at the back of the diner. Jack and I piled into one side forcing Johnson and Mallory to sit next to each other.

"So you guys going to tell me what's going on?" Jack asked as he played with his wedding ring. It was a tick for Jack. A nervous habit he had picked up.

There was a long bit of silence and I was about to step in when Mallory and I caught eye contact and she spoke up. "I have a son. Kyle. He's six" she muttered and I thought Jack's eyes were about to pop out of his head. Jack was about to say something when Mallory opened her mouth "it's Johnson's kid" she sighed

"Umm I don't even -" Jack began

"How do you know its mine huh? You were whoring around while I was out of town at the end of our relationship. I won't let you ruin my life like Kennedy ruined Jack's. I won't get stuck raising kids that aren't mine! I refuse!" he huffed and ran off. Jack made eye contact with me then ran off with him.

Johnson just confirmed everything I always thought. I always had a feeling that that's what everyone thought, but i was always told that I was overreacting.

"Kennedy I'm sorry" Mallory frowned as she took my hand in hers "I didn't mean for him to bring you into this. I don't know you that well but I know Jack. And I know that you can't force Jack to do anything he doesn't want to do. If he really didn't want to do this he would've been long gone trust me" she smiled lightly. She was right. Jack was stubborn there was no forcing him to do anything. This of course changes nothing. I didn't care what people assumed about Jack but what the people closest to us thought about us did matter.

"Thank you Mallory" I added as I mirrored her smile

Jack's POV
"How do you know its mine huh? You were whoring around while I was out of town at the end of our relationship. I won't let you ruin my life like Kennedy ruined Jack's" Johnson huffed as he got up and ran out. My eyes slowly made their way to Kennedy's and I could see that she was trying her hardest to hold back tears. No matter how many times I tell her she didn't ruin my life she doesn't seem to believe me. She motioned her head gently to the door alerting me to go after him
