Just a Bet

I layed peacefully on top of Eric as he stroked my hair.
I felt odly safe.I was at the hands of the one man that could kill me and I felt more safe than I ever had in my life.
I squized him lightly and snuggled a little more.

I should get back to the dorms.And get dressed.
I tried to get up but Eric pulled me back,making me bang my head in his chest.
I giggled playfully and rubbed my cheek on his chest.

"Stay a little more."he complained for the third time.
"Eric it's almost 4 in the morning i need to leave."I didn't want to...

Eric only held me tighter.

Slowly he loosened his grip and I got up,grabbing my stuff and heading for the big bathroom.
I quickly got dressed and fixed my hair.
I looked at my reflection.I had changed so much over this week.The Abnegation girl was gone.I didn't know if I was full Dauntless but I sure as hell was someone stronger.
The door slowly opened and Eric came in,naked and hugged me from behind.

I blushed at the feeling of his member on my back.

"You'll do fine tomorrow.Don't worry I'll be there."He whispered.
This was meant to soothe me but I felt my whole body tense,something Eric sensed.

"Adelane?"his voice wasn't a whisper anymore.
I cleared my throat and turned around,giving him my best fake smile.
"I am fine,I just want to get over this.I want to be with you."

It was true.Partly.I did want to be with Eric,but I knew I could never.I just wanted to pretend for a while.

Eric eyes me suspiciously but said nothing.

I got out of the bathroom and headed for the door.I turned one last time to see Eric,leaning on the bathroom door,his arms crossed over his chest.
The way he stood so confident,even tbough he was completely naked made me hate him a little bit.

"I'll see you tomorrow."i said.

He nodded,his grey eyes never leaving mine.
"Are you sure you don't want to say anything."

My blood froze at his words.I felt my hands going numb.
Nevertheless I smiled and shook my head.
"I am fine."

He nodded one more time and turned his back to me to get inside the bathroom.

I quickly run outside and headed for the dorms.
I tried hard not to shake as I was walking.Eric wasn't stupid,in fact he was extremely smart.It would be easy for him to see through my lies..and when he did.He would make me suffer for lying to him.
My thoughts didn't help at all.I started shaking more and it was hard to breath.

Because of that,I didn't hear the heavy footsteps behind me until it was too late.
I turned but a hand covered my mouth and another pair of hands lifted me.
It was dark and I couldn't see my captors.Maybe Eric had sent them to kill me.Maybe I was so worthless he didn't bother to do it himself
As they carried me and they spoke quietly but I could hear male voices.A part of me screamed to fight back but the bigger part of me felt numb.For whatever reason I stayed still.Maybe dying was better.
Maybe I would find peace from my own thoughts.

The place became lighter and I could hear the noise water made while it fell on the rocks.
The chasm.
They would throw me to the chasm.
I didn't deserve to die like that.

I started kicking and screaming to break free.
My hand collided with a cheek and I heard a loud yell in response.
The hands dropped me and I felt my back hit the ground.

"Control yourselves!If they find us we are dead!"one of them yelled.

I could make out the figures now.

I saw they boy named Peter and two other people,Jane and a boy,who was lower on the rankings.
I must say I did this coming.

I tried to scream and lift myself up to fight them but two hands pushed me down.

"Let me go,asshole!" I kicked and screamed as much as I could.

"Shut up!Your boyfriend is not here to help you." Jane hissed at me.

Peter kneeled and gave me a devilish grin.
"Even if he did hear you,why would he care?You are just a fuck toy Adelane."
He touched one lock of hair and gently tugged it behind my ear.

Don't listen to them Adele..

"Actually worse.I heard him saying you were a bet.He made two bets."Peter said showing me two fingers.
"One was to take your virginity and the second one to talk to you into having sex with him a second time.I mean most people on the table couldn't believe you would be that stupid to not realize he was playing you.But I guess Eric won."

I felt a familiar numbness spreading through my body,making me unable to move.Peter's words didn't cause any hurt.I just felt numb.Like nothing made sense or mattered.
A small part of me knew it all along.

"You are lying."I felt the words slip from my mouth,I guess it was a way to protect myself from the truth.

Peter grinned and shook his head.

Just then I heard footsteps and soon Tobias and Eric came running towards us.

Tobias's fist found Peter's head and the other two seemed too afraid to even face Eric,so they run away.
He tried to pick me up but as soon as I felt his hands I yelled.

Eric seemed surprised,obviously.He probably thought I was still shocked from the assault.
"It's okay it's just me,Adelane." he knelt and tried to calm me down.

"I know,don't you dare come near me."tears filled my eyes.
Eric frowned.

Tobias came and pulled me up,examining my body and face for any damage.

My eyes never left Eric's.

He had grabbed Peter and was holding him down,whispering something to his ear.

"Eric please take Adelane to the infirmary as I talk to Peter." Tobias said.

Eric nodded and walked over me.
He grabbed my hand and we walked silently to the infirmary.

After a long silence Eric spoke.
"Would you like to tell me why you snapped?"

I stopped and turned at him.
"What did you win?"I said.

He arched an eyebrow.

"You made a bet.What did you win for taking my virginity and making me have sex a second time."

Eric seemed frozen in his place but it was obvious my words were true.I wanted him to deny them so bad.

"You had fun as well,so what does it matter?"

Before I could realize I slapped him hard across the face.More tears slipped down my face.How could he?
He accepted the blow,silently.

"Don't you ever come near me again."
I hissed and left.
