The Party

I never meant to hurt you,it's just something I do...i guess it's not a good excuse.

Eric and I quickly got dressed and headed back to Amity.
We were yelled at because we had left our chores and run off and the celebration would start soon.
To be honest,I was in such a good state that I didn't hear anything being said to me and I giggled like a little girl.
I was so happy.

The little kids in Amity dressed me and Tris up.They braided our hair and run around us like little bees.
I looked next to me to Tris who was smiling but seemed a little off.
"Is everything okay?" I asked.
We were never close but I still liked her.

Tris looked at me and frowned.
"All this feels wrong to me."she said honestly.
"It's just feels like something is about to happen...why haven't they come for us yet?Why Eric all of a sudden changed?"

My smiled faded along with my happy mood.
I stared at Tris furiously and as calm as I could answered her.
"I have gone through so much shit these past months that I want to cherish those happy moments.I don't know why no one has come yet and I don't care."
I got to my feet and picked my white dress so I wouln't step on it.

I walked towards the door but turned one last time to Tris.
"And don't talk about Eric like that."

I left Tris and I went to find Eric.

I run towards the fields where people were singing and dancing around the fire.
There was a big wooden table with lots of food and some girls were serving what i assumed was wine.
I noticed Eric holding a grass and staring at the people.
I smiled and walked to him.
He was wearing a long white shirt,with the sleeves rolled up and creme pants.

When he noticed me he smiled hugged me with one arm.
"You are stunning." he whispered in my ear.

All my anger suddenly faded and I gave him a small kiss on the cheek.

"Can we dance?" I asked in a small voice.

Eric chuckled and looked around.
"Maybe later."

Just then I noticed my brother dressed like Eric walking hand in hand with Tris.
I pressed my lips together to prevent myself from saying anything.

"Everything okay?" Eric asked,squeezing me a little.
I smiled and nodded.
"Yes.I think.It's just with all that is happening I get suspicious whenever I am happy...i love you" I looked at him in the eyes.
"I wanted you to know that.I still love you."

Eric smiled at me and put his hand on my cheek caressing it with his thumb.

"Oh Adelane." he whispered.

"You are still so naive."

Ι stared at him confused,he looked again like the old Eric.Like the Eric who had used me,and treated me like an animal.

At that moment i saw a bunch of soldiers running from the trees with guns.
I couldn't look away from Eric's eyes,i heard the screams from the rest of the faction,they shocked reactions but I couldn't bare to look.This was my fault.

I felt hands grabbing my arms and pinning them behind my back.
Eric grinned and folded his arms over his chest.

"How...they shot You.." I mumbled

Just then Jeanine walked over and placed a hand over Eric.

"Everything was planned Adelane.We knew we hadn't wounded Eric too much and we knew you would go to Amity.They as the fools they are they would take you back and we really needed a reason to take down the faction.We have already Candor and Dauntless at our side and without Amity...Abnegation is nothing."

I couldn't quite believe all this was happening.
I thought I was dreaming.

"Of course Eric was in communication with us the whole time.You see when you lost the baby we thought the best plan was to take down Amity and continue our work later but we did not know how.It was actually Eric who came with the plan.
Clever boy."

I stared at Eric with my mouth open.
"You are a monster."

He walked over me and placed a kiss on my forehead.
"And You are naive."
