This is how I said goodbye.
Everyone took a turn saying goodbye to you, your parents went first as me and your sister stood outside, we could hear your mum sobbing. Your sister wanted me to go in with her, to hold her hand as she talked about old stories of when you annoyed her and she even included how much of a good brother you was even with the annoying habits.
She left the room and suddenly it was just the two of us, I wasn't sure what to say at first I mean how do you say goodbye to the love of your life for the last time, not because they're going to work or even popping to the shop to get some milk.
But because you were dying, each breath taking you one step closer to your last.
So here I am talking about all our time together, the important milestones in our relationship that helped us get together and married, something I will always remember and never forget because I couldn't bear the thought of letting our memories go.
