A PJO/MR Crossover (Sidenote: I wrote this story when I was 16. It is kind of cringey and cliche, so read at your own risk)

Percy POV Max slipped off her old sneaker, pulling out a small, golden key.
"No way!" I said in disbelief. "Jeb gave that to you? Just yesterday he was torturing me with a taser, and suddenly he's on our side?"
"I know it seems fishy, but it's the only opportunity we have," Max said pointedly. "We don't have time to argue."
Angel looked at me with bright eyes, excitement fluttering across her cheeks in red blotches. Max quietly squeezed her hand through the cage, unlocking it without trouble. She burst out, skipping over me and quickly going to unfasten Angel's cage.
"I'm glad I know where her priorities are," Icouldn't help thinking.
As she struggled to get the key in just right, I seethed inside, feeling impatient. After a couple of curses and a couple more tries, Angel's cage was no longer in use. The little girl hopped out, unfurling her wings with a smile.
Max was finally unlocking mine, taking her sweet time. Once it unlatched, I burst out, feeling pleasure after being confined for so long.
"Don't make a sound," Max hissed, as we reached the double doors. Surprisingly, they needed no key. The whitecoats must've never expected us to make it this far. Their hubris was acting as their downfall.
As soon as we opened them, alarms begin blaring. I take back what I said before. The psychos wanted it to seem easy, but the doors were implanted with heat signatures and metal detectors. Any idiot could realize we weren't whitecoats.
"Damnitt, Jeb!" Max said in frustration. "He didn't tell me about that."
"Dam, you mean?" I corrected, knowing she had no idea what I was talking about.
Max was not amused, huffing in exasperation. "Stop fooling around. They will be on us in minutes." She grabbed Angel's arm, running down the long hallway urgently. I followed, the noise berating my senses. I could hear footsteps above us, an army of Erasers. I pictured their sharp fangs and claws, urging myself to run faster.
"Where are we going?!" I shouted to Max, my voice barely heard amidst the chaos. "There aren't any windows!"
"They must've removed them after our escape last time," Max exclaimed back. I was running behind her, surprised by her speed. Angel was keeping up too, wings tucked against her back in fear and anticipation. I wanted to reassure my little friend, but I knew finding an exit was top priority.
"The Erasers are coming," Angel said softly. I had to concentrate just to make out the words. Footsteps were now down the hall, and they were moving fast. We were at a dead end, with no escape routes in sight. It felt like we'd sprung a trap, and there was no escaping.
