Percy POV
It was the knock on my cabin door that woke me from a deep slumber. I immediately sat up, making sure not to awaken Annabeth. She was covered in blankets beside me, resting her head against the far side of a white pillow.

Seeing her dark outline made me wish I was still asleep beside her, and not getting an unexpected wake up call. It was early morning, and the sun was still down, which meant I shouldn't be up.

Hitting my toe against the sea shell fountain proved that I was currently blind, too. My pinkie throbbed, and my curses were small whispers against the sounds of waves from the lake.

"Percy?" I heard from outside the door. I recognized the voice immediately. No wonder why it smelled like pinecones by the threshold. Thalia Grace was here, and it must be extremely important for her to pull me out of my peace. It was a known fact that I wasn't a morning person. At all.

With a grumble, I opened the door to face the daughter of Zeus. She hadn't really changed, except for her growing black hair. It was shoulder length now, and supported the silver circlet around her head perfectly. She was still the lieutenant to the Hunters of Artemis, so I rarely saw her. To say I was surprised was an understatement.

"Thalia," I greeted tiredly, swallowing a yawn. "How nice of you to come at this-" yawn "-fine hour."

"Hey, Percy," She grinned, dismissing my sarcasm. She pulled me into a bear hug, squeezing my ribcage; hard. "It's good to see you, too."

We released from our embrace, taking each other in. Thalia was ready for combat, with a bow strung behind her back and hunting knives in sheaths along her waist. I could sense her immortality from a mile away, a gift from Artemis to any woman who pledged their allegiance to her.

"So, what's up?" I wondered, still slightly confuzzled from being half asleep. My annoyance with her dissipated, overpowered by how much I'd missed Thalia this last year. She was family on my dad's side, making her a child of the Big Three like myself.

Her face fell, remembering the real reason she was here. I could see dark lines under her eyes, that even her immortality couldn't cover up. Now that I looked closer, she seemed stressed and anxious.

"We need an emergency meeting. Now!" She said, turning her smile into a grim line. "We found an army of mortal hybrids, and their headed straight for this place. I have scouts looking out as we speak, but we have to tell Chiron!"

The fact that she came to me first, before Chiron, flattered me. Unless she thought I had something to do with this...

"Wait a second. What do you mean, hybrids?" I asked, already knowing in the back of my mind what she was going to say. I just had to be sure.

"They are shapeshifting mortals," She said quickly. "I think they were all half wolf, from the looks of it. They turned when they were angry or frustrated, and seemed very strong in numbers. We have been watching them for days, and Artemis ordered us to warn Camp Half Blood once we recognized their plans."
