Percy POV
"I was trying to kill him," I realized, as guilt invaded my body and weakness settled into my bones. Tartarus was gone, and Jason had taken his place, holding an expression of immense confusion and relief among his bleeding face. His fingers crackled with static, dropping to his sides slowly. He never stopped looking at me, as if I might attack him again unpredictably.

Leo stood to my left, carrying a horrified expression. He was likely wondering if I'd truly lost my mind. I caught myself with the same thoughts, hands covering my eyes in shame and mortification.

"Oh my gods," I gasped, my legs failing me at the knees. I slumped to the ground, hating the image of it all. It was an ingrained picture in my head; never to be forgotten.

"What's happening to me?"

Leo helped Jason to his feet, glancing in my direction often, as if I was going to attack them again. I noticed his smoldering shirt, a result of his powerful fire. The heated fight must've hit a nerve.

"Jason, I'm so sorry," I said pathetically. Tears threatened to well up in my eyes, but I pushed them away.

I didn't deserve to cry.

"It's not your fault," Jason said uncertainly. He looked concerned as he hefted me upright, with the help of Leo. I could barely stand in my condition, much less walk.

My nausea only intensified, and it felt like my insides were burning. I resisted the urge to start hurling, and instead focused on the ground. The green blades of grass did little to distract me, even though they possessed a bright, healthy pigment to them.

Leo's hand was growing hotter by the second upon my shoulder. I don't think he noticed, because my skin started burning. I flinched away upon stimuli, stumbling to the ground after leaving my supports.

"What the Hades, man?" Leo questioned.

"You burned him," Jason noticed, gesturing at my tender shoulder. The fabric of my shirt had fallen off there, leaving a small hole to expose my red skin. Jason started helping me walk again, with Leo staying behind.

The son of Hephaestus looked pissed, but I didn't know if it was towards himself or me.

We were soon met up by Chiron and the others at the infirmary's entrance. It was a brown tent with layers of dirt clinging to the outside of the fabric. There's no telling how many times I've come in here. It always looked the same, with plenty of cots and first aid kits to treat many at a time. My first days at Camp Half Blood were even spent in here, after my fight with the Minotaur.

As we entered the room, my vision started becoming fuzzy. I felt my muscles trembling continuously, making my teeth chatter like it was cold. To add to that, goosebumps were forming on my arms and legs.

I was running a fever.

"Lay him down," Chiron ordered. He frantically pranced around, giving impatient gestures to other demigods who were gawking at me.
