Chapter 24

Bakugou didn't really want to move. Or get up. Or do really anything. He laid in bed, relishing the fact it was a Saturday and he didn't need to do anything. That is, until he received a text that made his phone buzz on the counter beside him. He groaned as he rolled over, picking up the phone and turning it on. He saw three messages from Midoriya and unlocked his phone to read them.

Sent 9:45am
Deku: Hey Kacchan! Sorry, you're probably still asleep, but I just wanted to know if you wanted to go to that little cafe down the road?

Deku: Sorry, that sounded like a date. Now I'm thinking about it, you probably don't want to go. I shouldn't have said that.

Deku: Sorry for bothering you

Quickly, Bakugou tapped out his response.

Kacchan: No I'll go. It can be a date if you want it to be one.

He said nothing at how quickly Midoriya had read his message. He saw the three dots appear on the screen as the other typed out a reply.

Deku: Then... will you go out with me, Kacchan?
Read

Bakugou took a deep breath, imagining Midoriya's cheeks heating up as he waited for his reaction. He felt his own cheeks burning as he hit send.

Kacchan: Yes I will, Deku. The cafe at 11:45?

Deku: Yep! See you then! <3

Bakugou blushed deeper as he saw the little heart, a goofy smile on his face that he was glad his mother didn't see. He reluctantly threw his legs over the side of the bed and stood up, stretching his arms above his head with a large, drawn-out yawn. The hot-headed teen changed out of his boxers and into some comfortable clothes.
He sat back on his bed once he was ready, having time to just wait. His finger hovered over Kirishima's number, wondering if he should tell his... friend... about the upcoming date. Bakugou decided against it though, as he'd promised Midoriya he wouldn't let things slip again. Looking down at the time on his phone, he decided to leave a little earlier to save a table for them.
Bakugou left the house, not bothering to tell his mother where he was going. He walked down to the cafe and entered it, walking to one of the tables and checking the time again. 11:40am. He chuckled softly, sitting back in his chair and staring at the door. A waitress came over and he told her he was waiting for someone.
11:45am. No Deku.
Bakugou frowned softly, about to leave as, two minutes later, Midoriya still wasn't there. Bakugou stood up, feeling that hint of hurt back when he saw Midoriya come rushing through the door, his hair a mess and his shoulder steaming. He saw Bakugou and his face lit up and he ran over to him.
Before Bakugou could speak, he started squeaking. "I'm so glad you're here! Sorry I'm late, I ran into some... trouble... on the way here. I'm fine though! You didn't have to wait too long, did you?" He checked the time on his phone and sighed in relief. He didn't seem to notice the large cut on his cheek, but Bakugou did. He reached over the table and cupped Midoriya's cheek in his hand, his gaze softening ever so slightly.
"Trouble with... who?" He asked, wiling away some of the blood with his thumb. Midoriya's face heated up with the contact as he didn't pull away, presumably enjoying the feeling. "Deku.."
"It was Todoroki." Midoriya blurted out with a purr at the gentle rubs, covering his mouth with a wide blush spreading over his face. "Because of my connection with All Might... wait, oh crap-"
"Connection with All Might? Y'know what, I don't really care about that right now. Where's that Half n' Half bastard, he's going to pay for touching my Deku." He stopped once he realised what he'd said and heard a little giggle across the table from Midoriya.
"Kacchan.. don't worry about it, honest. I punched him into a bin anyway then ran for it." Bakugou's scowl left and a large grin replaced it. His own face was heating up as he sat back down again, chuckling.
"Now that's more like it. Tell me everything!"
