Not the Only Ones

A fine line between work and relationships

"I hate to say this but I have to get going. I have stuff to do." Mia said.

"Fine, I don't want to overwork you guys. Just come back tomorrow." Tony said.

"Thanks, I guess I'll see you guys tomorrow." Charlotte said and the girls left the building. Peter watched them walk away from the roof.

"Kid, you got a moment?" Tony asked flying up to the ceiling.

"Wow your asking me if I have time? This really must be serious." Peter said standing up.

"I know how much you like that girl-"

"You didn't tell her did you!" Peter panicked.

"No. But kid..how do I put this nicely...you cant be with her." He said.

"What why?" Peter asked.

"Don't get attached to these girls ok? They are here to fight and only fight. You don't need that girl distracting you." Tony said

"But I wouldn't be distracted!"

"Kid don't argue with me. You know I'm right." Tony said.

"Don't you think it would hurt me more not being able to like her?" Peter asked.

"So you are already getting attached. Fine. From now on you can't see her." Tony said.

"What!"

"It's for the best kid. You better be getting home." Tony said.

"This isn't fair." Peter mumbled to himself.

"What was happening up there?" Bucky asked as tony walked downstairs

"I don't want the kid to get hurt. He is already getting attached to Charlotte." Tony sighed.

"What's wrong with that?" Bucky asked.

"I want these girls to be able to fight, not being held back by any of you because you like them or something. There is a fine line between work and relationships." Tony said.

"Right.." Bucky said softly.

"Don't tell me you are getting attached too." Tony sighed.

"No, definitely not, I'm on your side." Bucky said.

"Ok good."

Meanwhile Charlotte was walking home. It was now night time and the streets were empty. She got an uneasy feeling. She would keep turning around but saw nothing. Finally someone grabbed her from behind and threw her to the ground. She quickly stood up to see a tall guy with a gun in his hand.

"You're Tony's new project right?" He asked.

"What do you want with me?" She asked almost panicking.

"I want to know everything you know about the avengers, like how I can get in. You tell
Me what you know and no one gets hurt." He said. Charlotte closed her eyes and opened them and tried to use her death stare but couldn't focus.

"Don't make me shoot you." He said.

"I don't know anything." She panicked a single tear running down her face. Another guy came up behind her and grabbed her. She tried to kick free but nothing was working. She screamed and screamed

"Hey douche bags, what are you doing?" Peter asked swinging down.

"Oh look it's Spider-Man here to save the day." The one guy said.

"Let her go." Peter said.

"Nah." The guy said. Peter shot his Webb taking his gun and sticking the one guy to the wall. The other guy dropped Charlotte on the ground and went after peter but he got stuck to the wall just the same.
