Not the Only Ones

Just thinking about tomorrow

That night everyone had their own places to sleep. Peter slept on the floor behind the couch in the main room, Bucky was on that couch and Charlotte was in the bed in the next room where Danielle slept on that couch and Mia on the floor. Tony was keeping an eye on the tracker upstairs while Steve and T'Challa kept watch outside.

Bucky started to toss and turn in his sleep. He jumped up and got a horrible pain in his head. He shut his eyes as he realized what was happening. He groaned in pain and started breathing heavily. Then it stopped. He stood up unaware of what he was doing. He started walking towards the beautiful hole in the building when Danielle ran out and stopped him.

"Bucky what are you doing?" She asked running over to him. He didn't respond. Danielle knew he was having a freak out.

"Bucky look at me, snap out of it. Listen to my voice. Fight it." She said holding him back. He suddenly flinched and stumbled back.

"Are you ok?" Danielle asked.

"It happened again didn't it?" He sighed a slight quiver in his voice.

"It's ok. Just calm down." Danielle said coming closer to him but he moved farther away.

"Did I hurt you again? Please tell me I didn't." He said quietly but his voice filled with sadness and fear.

"No I just came out here to see what you were doing and you stopped. Come on just go back to sleep." She said.

"Please don't come near me. I can't control my brain." He said sitting on the couch.

"Don't make me sing the stupid song again." She said sitting next to him.

"Oh no not the stupid song." He sighed. Since he had the freak outs, Danielle found the one song that calmed him down when he was putting himself down or his Brain was acting up. Bucky always pretended to hate it but, he couldn't live without hearing her soft voice.

"You know you love it come on it's a sing along." She smiled. Bucky just rested his head on her shoulder.

"The sun will come out tomorrow, bet your bottom dollar that tomorrow, there'll be sun." Danielle softly sang as she gently played with Bucky's strands of hair. He tried to hide his smile but he couldn't help it. He closed his eyes and focused on her voice.

"When I'm stuck in a day that's grey and lonely I just stick out my chin and grin and say, oh the sun will come out tomorrow, so we gotta hang on til tomorrow come what may." She sang. Bucky ended up drifting off to sleep. Danielle looked at him and smiled. She slowly moved away when he gently grabbed her arm.

"You didn't finish the song." He said tiredly not even opening his eyes.

"I thought you hated this song." She smiled.

"I'm waiting." He yawned. Danielle rolled her eyes and sat back next to him and he rested his head on her lap.

"Tomorrow tomorrow I love ya tomorrow you're only a day a way When I'm stuck in a day That's gray, And lonely, I just stick out my chin And Grin, And Say..." she sang. She finished the song and Bucky was now fully asleep.

*the next day*

Everyone was still asleep when suddenly a huge explosion hit the tower causing everybody to jump up.

"Ok what was that?" Bucky asked.

"Charlotte, girls are you ok?" Peter asked knocking on their door.

"Yeah what the heck was that?" Charlotte asked opening the door.

"Guys, have you seen tony?" Chris asked running down the steps.
