Ruby

I found Lucas sitting outside talking to Lia. "Lucas!" I shouted gathering everyone's attention except Lucas's.

I internally groaned, "Lucas!" I said slightly louder, finally catching his attention, "Mhm?" I rolled my eyes, you've got to be kidding me, right?

"What's up shortcake?" I furrowed my brows, "Shortcake?" I shook my head, "Nope! Not happening ever!" He pouted, "Aw I could get use to calling you that." I shook my head, "Anyway, have you spoken to her?" I pulled him away from her.

"Erm, yes I have." He scratched the back of his neck, "She refuses to go with him."

"What? Why?" He sighed, "Considering he is your... ex. She refuses it." He seemed hesitant when mentioning him, but I forgave him about the situation. Yeah, I know Lia is one hell of a true friend, but I want both of them to be happy, no matter how much I have been hurt.

"She knows that it is meant to be a night to remember, and I just want what's best for her." My voice laced with defeat.

"Red? Listen, you are too good for your own safety. Maybe... maybe it is just best that they don't go with each other, she loves you and she respects that as him being your ex, she wants nothing to do with him baby."

I sighed, "I guess." He hugged me, making me engulf his manly scent. "You never know, if we stop they might. Maybe not with each other but other people, look." Lucas moved out the way, and in front of me was Lia laughing and joking with David.

"Wait is that David from AV club?" Lucas smirked and nodded, I smiled. "Maybe she didn't need me after all."

"I guess she didn't, come on shortcake lets go to class." But I didn't move, "Red?"

"I need to tell Jason."

It was now lunch meaning I can find Jason, I frantically looked around the canteen to only spot a bottled blond – along with her obnoxious laugh - and Jason. I sighed, slowly making my way there, "Oh hey Ruby." I smiled hesitantly.

"Jenson."

"Marshall." I copied her monotoned voice.

"What are you doing here?" I rolled my eyes, "Not now Olivia. I came to see Jason." At this point she stood in front of his figure, "And why would you need to see him?" She crossed her arms, raising her brow.

"That doesn't concern you, but if you really wanted to know, Jason-" I moved Olivia out the way, causing her to breathe out a scoff.

"- You don't need to bring Lia to prom no more, I think she has found someone." He lifted his brows, "Oh..."

"WAIT! You were going to take... her." Olivia said with such disgust, Jason scoffed, "Actually I was planning on it, but it seems I don't need to anymore."

"But... but you were taking me." She screeched.

"Funny thing called the past tense. I was going to take you. I can't stand how you treat people any more Liv." She fluttered her eye lids in shock, "But... but..."

"But what? I'm done with you Liv. Until you sort your shit out, don't call me again." I was shocked with both of them. However, I felt extremely awkward standing here.

"You did this!" She hissed towards me. "Wait? You... you think I did this?" I bit my lip and burst out laughing. "Oh sweetheart, it is down to Jason who he takes and who he throws out." I started to walk away.

"Oh, you mean like how he threw you out and took me." I froze on the spot, clenching and unclenching my fists, digging my nails into my palms to stop me doing something I would regret.

"What?" I said through clenched teeth. "You know exactly what I mean, sweetheart."

I turned around to see a smug look on her face and a sad look on Jason's.

I cleared my throat, "Olivia that won't work on me anymore, I forgave Jason for his actions. But just so you know, your 'Queen B' act won't last long, we are in high school for fuck sake. No one will ever fucking remember Olivia Marshall 'the girl who shags peoples boyfriends for a living'."

I started to walk away leaving her dumbfounded.

"Wait, scratch that. That is the only thing you will be remember for." I turned back around and left the canteen, walking towards my locker. As I got there, I checked my hands to see blood from how deep my nails dug into my palm.

Sighing, I opened my locker to find a corsage, I gasped.

I carefully picked it up; burgundy red, with small dots of white surrounded with blood red ribbon and leaves. Looking down I spotted a note.

"Turn around?" I whispered, as I turned around I noticed that familiar scent

"Turn around?" I whispered, as I turned around I noticed that familiar scent. Tears welded up in my eyes, putting a hand to my mouth "Surprise." He smiled cheesily.

"I hate you so much." I laughed, kissing his lips. "I told you, you have kissable lips." I cacked a laugh, "Shut up!"

I sighed, "Lucas?"

"Yeah." I looked at him, "Are ready for this? Us?" He furrowed his brows, "Of course I am baby, why wouldn't I be?" I smiled, "Because I don't want to fall too deep."

"You can fall as much as you want, I will still be there to catch you." I started to blush, and butterflies formed in my stomach.

"I love you."

"I love you too."
