=====

I sat in my containment cell, pressed in the farthest corner and making direct eye contact with the small security camera watching me. I thought about why I was in this small room. I was a danger to myself and a potential one to others. The locked me in the padded room to observe me. I stood and paced. A buzzer sounded and a voice crackled over a speaker,

"Y/N, we have a visitor for you. We believe he may be able to help you in your long term process." The speaker turned off. Another buzzer sounded and my door opened. I shrank back against the corner as a tall, brown haired, light eyed boy stepped in. I stared at him from behind a wall of my hair. He stopped in his tracks,

"Y/N?" He held his hands up. I moved my hair slightly, getting a better look at him. He put his hands down slowly,

"I'm Grayson. Grayson Dolan. I'm here to talk with you." He took a step forward. I tucked my knees under my chin. He took another cautious step towards me. I watched his motion. He stopped and reached into his pocket. I flinched as he pulled something out. His eyes widened,

"I won't hurt you. I promise." He pulled a long wire and box from his pocket. He put it down and flipped a switch, making a red light on the box go off. I stood, walking towards him. He talked confidently, not shaky and nervous like all the staff did. I reached forward and all he did was look into my eyes. I retracted my hand,

"You're not scared of me?" I held my arms at my side. He shook his head. I stepped closer, 1 foot between our bodies,

"Are you sure?" I could smell him. He smelled inviting, nice. Warm. He nodded,

"You're no different from me." His eye sparkled. I looked down at my jeans and black shirt. I looked back to him. I reached out and, again, all he did was watch my hand. I touched his face, running my finger down his jawline. He stayed calm. I took my hand away from him. I sat back in the corner. He followed me and sat in front of me. My eyes darted around all his features. He smiled,

"Tell me about yourself." He put his chin in his hand. I watched him, my expression unchanged,

"I'm 18. I'm apparently a danger to myself and others so they put me here and watch me all day." I pointed to the camera. He followed the direction I was pointing and nodded in understanding. He turned back to me and reached a hand towards me. I whimpered and curled into a ball upon impulse. He moved his hand,

"I won't hurt you. I promise." He spoke slowly and deliberately. I sat up and watched his hand move. My breathing quickened as his fingers made contact with my face. He shushed me as I hyperventilated,

"Don't worry. I will not hurt you." His fingers slid from my face to my hair. He tucked it behind my ear, revealing my face completely. He smiled,

"You're beautiful." His hand left my face. I played with my fingers,

"They call me insane. Do you think I'm insane?" I looked at him. He shook his head,

"No." He looked at my fingers. I crawled closer to him, seating myself so that our knees were touching,

"You're nice." I poked his cheek. He chuckled, holding his hand out to me. I eyed it, wondering what to do. He reached forward, grabbing my hand and lacing our fingers. I stared at the contact with wide eyes. He watched my reaction carefully. I slid my fingers from his and retreated back to my corner. Grayson came and sat next to me. I grabbed his right hand and laced our fingers again. He rubbed his thumb over my hand,

"Why are you a danger to yourself?" He rubbed circles on my hand. I turned my head to face him,

"I-I don't know if I can tell you." I squeezed his hand. He nodded,

"I get it, you've only known me for an hour." He pulled one of his knees up. A buzzer sounded and the door opened. I let my fingers slide from his as the staff came to escort him out. He waved to me,

"Bye Y/N. I'll be back."

~3 days later~

I sat in my room again, rocking back and forth in my corner. I was completely convinced that Grayson wasn't coming back. I was mad at myself for getting attached just to have him leave. I refrained from endangering myself just like my daily talk sessions advised me to do. I hugged my knees closer to my body and whimpered as tears fell onto my knees. A buzzer went off and my door clicked open. I looked up, my hair obscuring my view. I saw two different figures. The door clicked closed, leaving one person in their with me. I looked up completely, moving my hair behind my ears like Grayson did. I looked at the other person's face and my face broke into a smile. I jumped up and attacked Grayson in a hug,

"I thought you weren't coming back." I pressed my face into his shoulder. He wrapped his arms around my waist. He chuckled,

"You're a lot more social now." He let me go. I stepped back a little,

"Only around certain people." I ran a hand through my hair. He sat on the edge of my bed. I laid on it and stared at the ceiling with my feet in his lap. He gladly kept them there. He broke the silence,

"Is it lonely? Staying in here alone for the majority of your day?" Though I couldn't see him, I knew there was concern written all over his face. I hummed,

"Yeah. I mean, I'm in a tiny room all day. I leave for an hour every day and come right back." I sat up and crossed my legs, situating myself Indian style. I raised an inquisitive eyebrow,

"You haven't told me one thing about yourself. I'm curious." I leaned forward, pressing both my forearms into my knees. He exhaled through his nose, the smile on his face growing,

"Touché. I am 18. I am from New Jersey. I have a twin brother and an older sister. I live with my twin, his name is Ethan. Uh, that's pretty much me in a nutshell." He flashed me a toothy grin and shrug. I nodded,

"I'm from L.A. I've lived here all my life and then... my accident happen. I got here when I was 17. My one year anniversary of being issued was the first day you visited me. That made my day, you know." I looked down at my hands. He chuckled,

"So, what do you wanna talk about?"

~1 month of Grayson's daily visits~

I stopped sitting in my corner, too excited while waiting for Grayson to walk back into my room. The familiar buzzer went off and my door opened. Grayson poked his head in,

"Hey." He fully entered and an armed guard walked in with him. I looked from his to Grayson,

"What's going on?" I backed into my corner impulsively. Grayson approached me,

"Y/N, calm down-" He went to hug me. I dodged him,

"No. No, what is this? Why is he here?" I pointed at the guard. The guard had a hand on his belt. I started shaking. Grayson stepped up to me,

"Calm down. For me." He looked into my eyes. I relaxed, still breathing a little too heavily and on the verge of crying,

"Wh-what's happening?" I hugged him as he wrapped his arms around my body. He leaned his head into my shoulder, speaking into it,

"You're getting out of here." He squeezed me tighter. I sprang away from him,

"WHAT?! Are you serious?!" My eyes went wide. He broke into a grin,

"Mhm. You're leaving for good." He kept his hands on my waist. I jumped happily,

"Oh my gosh! I'm leaving?! I'm leaving!" I jumped into his arms, wrapping my legs around his waist. He caught me, stumbling a little from not expecting it. I laughed happily,

"How? I'm supposed to be here for-" The door opened. My therapy session doctor walked in. He had his hands clasped behind his back,

"Ms. Y/L/N, you were supposed to be here for another year give or take. But, with Grayson here, your progress has skyrocketed. You finished your processes early, congratulations." He left and the armed guard grabbed all of my belongings, nothing more than bags of clothes.

There is another part to this. It's not going to be as long, but it's just an explanation what happens after Y/N leaves the institute. -KudosDolan
