Meeting Once Again: Chapter 12

Lele's POV

The door remained unlocked, so I continued in. Juanpa wasn't anywhere in sight, so I headed up the stairs.

The only place he could be was his bedroom.

I remember. Every time that something bad happened, he went up to his room to think or sleep it off. I figured since it was so quiet, he was sleeping.

I cautiously opened the door and peered in. Yeah, Juanpa was lying there with his eyes closed, on his side. I only knew this because he was lightly snoring. I didn't care.

I punched the wall and winced, my knuckles tingling with a temporary stinging-pain. He didn't budge, so I walked in and slammed the door.

He shot straight up.

"Wake up. We have some explaining to do." I said. "Lele?" He said wearily, rubbing the sleep from his eyes. "Yes, and I know what's happened. My only question is if anybody else was involved." I answered, taking his hand and pulling him up.

After grabbing his keys off the counter and locking the door, I rushed him to his car. "¿Adónde vamos?" He asked, still sleepy. "To the only place the last culprit could be." I replied, pulling out and away.

It was a long and silent drive. I knew Juanpa had questions he wanted to ask, and answers were burning inside of me, yet my throat was dry and my hands were shaking.

"I broke up with Jack." I said after a little while. He sat in silence for a minute before answering, "Does that mean you're still mad at me."

"I was never mad at you. I'm sorry I overreacted in that text, but I was never mad. I know who caused me to break up with you." I said, focusing on the road.

"¿Adónde vamos?" He asked once again. "Please stop asking where we're going and just trust me. Do you still keep in contact with Amanda?"

"I mean, we talk every... 3 months..." I almost laughed at the remark. Not very close friends, but I guess Amanda had been avoiding Juanpa because I was in a relationship with him.

"You seem upset."

"Maybe I am Juanpa, but I just want answers..."
