Jack Attack: Chapter 17

Lele's POV

We were halfway through 13 Reasons Why Episode 1 when there was a knock on the door. Juanpa stood and answered the door. And yeah, guess who?

"Why are you here with him?" Jack yelled.

"Why do you care?"

"Why do you think? I'm your boyfriend!"

"Nope. You're not."

"What?" Jack asked. His voice saddened.

"I said, 'Nope. You're not.'"

He stared at me. I could see confusion in his eyes.

"What do you mean?"

"Jack, you know what you did. When I figured that out, it hurt me too much to even look at you! Why do you expect me to just... forgive you and forget it?" I yelled at him. He went a deadpan. There was no expression on his face. He then turned around and exited the house.

I found this funny, actually, because by his actions, I knew Jack and I were definitely over, and Juanpa stood with an amazed look on his face in the corner of the kitchen. I could tell why he didn't want to be close to Jack.

He came over and sat on the couch. "That was... wow." I laughed. Just from that, I felt exhausted. "I'll see you in the morning." I said. I walked up the stairs and took out a sweatshirt from Juanpa's drawer to wear for the night. I'd have to go to Jack's tomorrow and get my things.

The next morning, I woke up to Juanpa next to me. I stood and took off the sweatshirt, leaving it on the bed. I went downstairs and made myself some coffee. I attempted to reach the approval of Jack to come over.

Jack

Lele: Hey, can I come over to get my things?

Jack: Fine.

I left, leaving a note on the counter for Juanpa when he awoke.

I arrived at the apartment building Jack lived in and came up to his room. The second I knocked, the door swung open. Jack looked jacked up. He seemed as if he had gotten drunk last night. Not good. I didn't feel safe there in his room, alone with him.

After I gathered and packed up all of my things, I left without saying a word. Jack neither spoke. That seemed like a quiet start for a day. No talking, no nothing.

It felt pretty good.
