My Skills Cost: Chapter 6

Juanpa's POV

I peeked my head into the bedroom. There was Veronica. She had moved a playstation into my room and spent half of her time on it. Maybe I regret having her back...no, having a girlfriend that likes video games is cool. She was playing Diablo. "Hey babe!" I chirped.

And no, she's not one of those girlfriends that have an auto-response because they're so sucked into they're game. She went into her inventory to pause the game. "Hey baby. Can I help you?" She said politely. I smiled at her. "I'm going out, alone this time. I just want to window shop and get some junk." She thought about it. When she thought or spoke, it looked like she had already thought this through and was set for life. It was cool.

"I would come, but I have to leave at 12 with Ally to get a birthday present for Cory."

I smiled at her. "No problem." I said. "I was planning on going alone anyway." She smiles at me and looked at her watch. "I have about an hour. I'll go get ready." She stood up and took off her gaming headphones. "Bye baby." She sad as she kissed my cheek and headed to the bathroom.

I loved Veronica, but I was meeting someone so I preferred her not accompanying me. This someone was a female, and I knew she sometimes got jealous, so it would be easier. And no, it's not that I'm cheating on her, I just don't want to go through an argument right now.

I jogged done the stairs and grabbed my keys and a thin jacket. "Bye!" I echoed upstairs before leaving.

As I drove, I called Ora, the girl I was meeting.

Before I could say anything, she quickly whispered, "Hey, just text me, it's really loud here."

O: Hey.

J: Hey. Where are you right now? I'm driving.

O: Mall Apple store.And don't text and drive.

J: Bluetooth, and okay.

O: What did you need anyway? You know that my skills cost you.

J: I'll tell you when I get there, and Ora? I'm a YouTuber, I'm not broke.

O: I never said you were broke.

J: I was giving a point. 🤨

O: Whatever.

I arrived at the mall, and parked/locked my car. Walking inside felt like I was walking into a building as Agent Smith (from The Matrix). I wasn't doing something good. Well, not exactly.

I was doing this for me, not for Lele.

J: Where's the Apple store? I'm here.

O: Look around, Lazy.

J: You're right, I am being lazy, so tell me and we can get this over with.

O: Third store on the left corner.

I tucked my phone into my jacket's pocket and turned left. The Apple store immediately came into view. as if my eyes were preparing to scope it out. I walked in slowly, stopping in front of a door that said, O. L. Jarlene. Ora Laura Jarlene, she hates her name.

I knocked and leaned on the door, waiting. I almost fell when she opened the door, making her laugh. "Meanie." I said in a childish-Liza Koshy impression.
