Lele's POV

I texted Amelia and apologized. I told her I wouldn't be teaching anymore, but that I wanted to hang out with her other times. Her mother understood and told me that Amelia agreed as well.

I laughed my stuff into my car and wiped at my eyes and nose with my sleeve. When I walked around my car to get into the driver's seat, I saw Juanpa peering out the window with shady eyes.

Wipe.

I went back inside and packed Luis's stuff up, put him in a travel crate, and left.

And I drove away.

I pulled over at a gas station, and as my car was filling up, I went into the station and bought some snacks for the ride, along with some ham for Luis. I paid for it and took the bags out to my car, unhooked my car from the gas hose, and got into my car.

Luis started whimpering, so I took him out of the crate and pulled him up onto my lap. He snuggled into a ball and snored.

I pulled my phone out of my backpack and texted Hannah.

Hannah ❤️

Lele- Hey, can I come over and stay for a little?

Hannah ❤️- Yeah why?

Lele- I'll tell you later. Tell Twan I apologize for this

Hannah ❤️- It's okay. I'll tell him to get the guest bedroom ready

I smiled and thanked God for gifting me with such a good friend. I shoved my phone back into my backpack that was sitting in my passenger seat, and turned the car on.

The drive to Hannah and Twan's apartment was dreadful. Sad songs repeated on the radio and made me tear up. I also had the stress of not waking Luis and finding a good apartment.

Maybe I could neighbor Hannah.

I felt unsure, but when I arrived at their apartment, I kissed Luis on his little head to wake him up and set him into his crate for more convenient storage. Hannah had a worker come out and help me with my stuff, which I thought was unnecessary, but wouldn't argue.

I took Luis, my backpack, and the three suitcases holding my summer clothes inside. I placed them onto a moving cart take the heavy things upstairs along with the helper.

"Lele!" Hannah greeted me as I pulled the cart in. I gave her a hug and took Luis out of his crate. "Is it okay if this little popper stays here with me? I won't be too long," Hannah nodded and smiled, taking him into her arms. I pulled the carts a little further in.

I could tell Hannah was concerned at how much luggage I had, so I immediately started. Twan coincidentally wandered in and stood next to Hannah.

"Juanpa and I split... again,"

Hannah showed all her pity, and Twan showed me he was upset, but got a little distracted with Luis getting into the kitchen cabinet.

The worker left without charging money which made me feel bad, so I took off my main suitcase and took it and my back back into the guest bedroom Hannah led me to.

After I set those in there, I unpacked Luis's little things like his bed, food, and toys (the ham too) and set that on the floor. "I'll leave the carts outside my room," I said, and took them exactly there. Luis walked in, and I showed him his area and gave him a slice of meat.

I cuddled him in my arms and took him back out to the living room, where Hannah and Twan were cuddling. "Do you want to watch this movie with us?" Twan asked and paused whatever was on the tele.

"Which one is it?"

"Venom."

I walked over and plopped (carefully) on the couch, setting Luis next to me. He sat in between Hannah and mean, leaning onto Hannah's leg. I swear she sniffled every time she looked at his tiny body, which was often.
