Chapter 26

Clark

I was busy looking up the sky and can't help thinking the ironic situation I am in. Before I used to wonder what would it be like living in the grounder kingdom and the type of people they are, well.. now I know and what's worst I develop some kind of strong feelings towards my former enemy none other than the grounder queen herself who by the way doesn't have an interest . I let out a loud sigh and layed down on the grass. Seconds of silence have passed then suddenly I heard a familiar melody. I turned to the direction of the music and saw Ali struming the guitar. She looked at us and we smiled to each other remembering our childhood memories. When we were little my mom used to sing this for us while we are in the garden playing. It was a song for her father that was passed down to us. Then I heard Ali sing and it almost broke my heart remembering the voice of my mother.

"You tucked me in, turned out the light
Kept me safe and sound at night
Little girls depend on things like that...
Brushed my teeth and combed my hair
Had to drive me everywhere
You were always there when I looked back....
You had to do it all alone

Must have been as hard as it could be...

Then Ali looked at me and smiled waiting for me to continue the song. Then I closed my eyes picturing my mother and sang with all my heart.

"Caterpillar in the tree, how you wonder who you'll be
Can't go far but you can always dream...

I promise you that there will come a day
Butterfly fly away..."

Then as I opened my eyes I saw the grounders stopped what their doing and just listened to our song with soft smiles in their faces. The kids stopped running and was now slumped on the grass while looking at us with awe and waiting for the song to continue. We looked at each other and smiled. Then Raven continued the second stanza.

"Turned around and you were there
The two of us made quite a pair
Daddy's little girl was here at last
Looked away and back again
Suddenly a year was ten
Don't know how it got so far so fast
And yes I still don't understand
It's not anything we planned
Kind of makes you think it's meant to be (it's a destiny)

Then we sang together the chorus.

Then Octavia took over the song and I back her up.

I was in my room reading some papers when I heard a knock. "Enter." I commanded. The door opened and I didn't bother to look at the person disturbing me right now. "Your highness.. the guards reported that they sighted the sky ladies in the park." Said Titus. I immediately stopped from what I'm doing and look at him. "What are they doing there?" I said. "It seems they caused another commotion your highness." He answered with a bow. "What?!" I said firmly. Then stood up "What did they do this time?!" I asked angrily. Knowing those ladies they could turn my territory into 180 degrees. We do have damn different culture and perception. "There is still no update your highness" he said looking terrified with my angry state. "Leave now I'll handle this. Call the commander tell her I need her in the throne room when I get back from the city." I said and called heda. I walked towads the balcony and jumped on his back. I soar above my land and observed where the commotion was. When I saw people swarming at the park I immediately moved towards that direction. My people noticed my presence and immediately made way for heda to land and bowed to me.  I jumped off heda and headed towards the sky ladies ready for whatever  situation I might face but I stopped at the sound of an angelic voice that I recognized. As I look ahead I saw the sky ladies sitting calmly on the grass with the grounders circling them sitting and smiling with the song. They didn't even noticed my presence. The grounders that was near me bowed and tried to announce my presence but I signalled them to keep quiet which they complied easily. I leaned on the tree beside me, crossed my arms and closed my eyes. Taking in the angelic voice echoing the park.

"I hope you find your way and all the things you wish for, love and care about...

Butterfly fly away (oh, won't you fly away)

Butterfly fly away..."

Then the soft melody and voice faded and ended. The kids cheered for them even the grounders around nod and smiled at them. They really captured my people hearts this time. I smiled at them, I nod at my people who noticed me and slowly walked out. What the hell are you doing to me sky princess... I can't handle this.
