Chapter 17

Clark

I can hear voices around me and a beeping sound. I tried to open my eyes but my body won't let me. I panicked and can feel my body involuntarily moved. A soothing warmth envelope me, I can feel the person arms encircling my body. I can hear his/her heart beating that pulled me to a slumber. I scoot more towards the warmth and the soft beating of his/her heart that calmed me and made me feel safe.

"She's so pretty..." I heard someone talking and movement of things. My eyes immediately opened and I quickly sit straight up that made me dizzy. I tried to adjust my eyesight and saw two people wearing white dresses with caps. I jumped off the bed and my knees buckled which made me hold the bed tightly. The two women extended their arms and I quickly flinched back, away from their hands. I panicked and immediately run away from them. When I opened the door I saw more people then recognize the tattoos.. I'm with the grounders? I questioned myself. I saw people wearing white clothing approaching towards me. I immediately run and pushed anything or anyone in my way. I noticed that I don't have shoes and wore a thin gown which made me shiver. I don't have enough energy to use my powers and I know the grounders are more capable in fighting in hand to hand combat so my best option is to run. I was able to pass their guards and reach the door of the building. I continued running but when I look up the sky I saw my City..lifeless..then my head pounded in pain that made me kneel in agony then flashbacks of horrible images came before me.. the death of my people... the reapers.. and the explosion that I made..."No..no..no....." I cried in pain that hit me all at one, it was too overwhelming.. I can feel the heat of my powers releasing and burning the ground that I'm kneeling..I cried while holding my heart cause it is too much in pain... and too much to handle.

Lexa

We are in the throne room explaining to the council the situation. They were all shocked about the resurrection of the sky princess. I told them that the blood contract will be resume when the princess is strong enough to get back on her duties. They all surprisingly agreed to me. I proposed to them that the 4 surviving sky people will remain in the palace and ofcourse they will still contribute to the kingdoms wellness. They will be assigned on duties that suit them. People may take time in adjusting around their presence but I know they will accept them later on. Then a sweaty Titus came inside the throne room and run towards me then bowed.  "Your majesty its the sky princess she's awake...and in panic state" he said. And I immediately stand up from the throne which cause my councils to stand and bow "This meeting is dismissed. The commander will update your clans in time." I said and bolted out of the room. I called heda which immediately arrived. I ride heda towards the infirmary and saw the commotion outside the building. My warriors are surrounding the princess with their shields to protect the civilians if she burst out and fired her flames. From where she's kneeling the grass around her was burned. I could hear her screaming in pain and agony. When my people noticed me they immediately made space for heda to land. I jump off his back and run towards the princess who is still hysterical. When I'm close enough I spoke to her softly and draw her attention "princess..." she slowly lift her face and I was struck by her beauty once again. And those set of eyes that almost killed me with pain reflecting in it. "I tried... I really did..." she said with trembing voice. "I know..you did what you think was right..." I said. "I killed them..I killed my people..I destroyed my city..." she continued and softly sob. I raised my hand and tried to touch her but she flinch and avoided it. "I don't deserve to be alive.." she said while looking above her kingdom. "Don't say that...you tried to save them all and I'm sure your people was proud of what you did. You saved them from transforming to a creature that feeds innocent people. Besides there are still survivors in the explosion.." I said. Then I saw her quickly diverted her gaze towards my direction. "Lady Allison, Lady Raven and Lady Octavia .. they're alive and waiting for you.." then just on cue a golden haired girl levitating above us and landed beside the sky princess. Lady Allison crushed her princess into a tight hug without even thinking that she might burned herself luckily the sky princess is now calmed and able to control her powers. The sky princess returned Lady Allisons hug and sob together. A large hawk also appeared and shifted then run towards the princess almost knocking the 2 women when she jumps and hugged them as well with tears in her eyes then Lady Octavia arrived with Indra and she jumped off her horse and immediately joined her people. The 4 sky women cried all mixed with joy and sadness. Relieved that they still have each other but also mourned for the people they've lost and for their kingdom. I glanced at my people and was surprised to see them with teary eyes. Soldiers now relaxed put down their sheilds. I felt Emily's presence and glance at her who is looking intently at the sky ladies with sadness passing through her eyes. We let them mourn and celebrate for a while then the sky princess composed herself and walk towards me. I look straight to her deep blue eyes while she's staring directly at mine. When she's near enough she get down in her knees and bowed to me. I was shocked but remained my stoic look. I heard gasps of my people. She raised her head and slightly smiled at me and said "words are not enough to express how grateful I am that you've helped my people despite our differences your majesty...and for that I pledge my loyalty to you and also serve you as our queen..if you and your people accept us as one of your own.." she said with intensity of emotions in her eyes. "Ofcourse princess.. my people did not forget what you've sacrificed not only to save your people but also to save mine." I said and extended a hand for her to take. She glance at it and slowly took it and stood up. The warmth of her hand colliding mine is extraordinary. I can feel the electricity between us. I gazed at her deep blue eyes as she was at my greens. I can see mixed emotions passing through her eyes. I let go of her hand like I was burned by the strong intensity we shared and said "let's head to the castle and discuss this matter.." I turned and walk away without letting her respond. I climbed up heda and flew towards the castle.

Clark

The queen walked away from me like I have some kind of disease. I look at my hand and was shock of how strong I reacted to her touch. I look up at her fading figure and sighed. I never thought I'd end up serving that beautiful green eyed goddess. I noticed our attraction before when I first met her but it is stronger than I thought it was. I felt Raven's chin on my shoulder "You know why don't you take a picture it would last long.. I'll ask one of the grounders to lend me a phone If you want" she said in teasing tone and while giggling. Then Octavia joined her laugh. I rolled my eyes and smiled. Well atleast they didn't changed despite what happened. "Oh honey.. you got the hots for the queen.." Ali said and joined them teasing me. "Okay..okay enough .. so where's the castle?" I asked and they composed themselves. "I'll escort you to the castle your highness." A beautiful brunette girl with dark brown eyes caught our attention. Then she glance at Lady Allison but quickly withdraw it. "I'm Commander Emily Dranaeres, right hand of the queen.. nightblood." She said then slightly bowed. "No need for that commander I'm not a ruler anymore. I don't have a kingdom or a people to rule over so.. you can call me Clark." I said while smiling and extending my hand. She hold my hand slightly shake it. "Well then Clark let us be on our way the queen doesn't like waiting. But first..." she look at me up and down then I followed her gaze and realize I was just wearing a thin hospital gown with no shoes on. My cheeks grew red  and she continued "You have to change first. It is inappropriate to show up to the queen and the councils looking like that." While slightly smiling. "Right..." I said and we followed her. She hop on to her dragon, then Octavia hop on to her horse where I didn't notice before, Raven shifted into her favorite form a hawk and Allison and I fly behind the commander's dragon. I look down and saw the grounders city. It was truely magnificent as I remembered it to be. Then we spot the huge castle who screamed power in every edges of its structure. We landed smoothly on the ground and saw Octavia entering the tall gates. "Let's go.." the commander said and we followed her inside.
