Recap:
Dust looked up at what Horror saw, and the sight...broke him too.
Hanging about was small Leo's body. He was impaled by wires, and he was a bloody mess. And from his picket, down fluttered the note from earlier.
Recap End
Dust's eye sockets widened, all of his words catching in his throat.
'No...' his mind whispered in protest at the sight in front of him.
The note landed in front of Horror's feet, slightly bloody, but now unfurled. It read;
"Dear Momma,
I love you. I know you gave me up, to this place. But you were scared, because I'm not normal. But guess what? I'm dead now! So you can finally be happy!
Now the neighbors won't bully you, you'll be a normal mom. But even though you gave me away to here, I love you. I'll miss you, and I hope that one day, a long time from now, we see each other again.
I'll be waiting on a hill lit by a sunset, our sunset. Just like in your stories. Remember, back when I was young? I love you. Bye momma.
-Leo, your son."
Dust started shaking.
He couldn't speak. He couldn't scream, even though his mind was yelling protests.
He could barely think through all of the white noise in his head.
He ended up crumplimg to his knees, crying, shaking, the tears running down his face quickly turning to sobs, shattering.
Horror stared blankly up at Leo's dead, broken body. For once, Horror wasn't shivering, crying, anything. He felt nothing. He simply stared, feeling empty and broken. He knew this time would on day come, but why? Why now?!
Horror could barely breath, only stare.
Dust was breaking further with each moment that he was there, his skull clutched in his hands, sobs leaving his mouth, tears escaping from his tightly shut eye sockets.
The speaker suddenly rang out, at now of all times.
"Hello you two. Did you find your little present? The kid was easy to kill, but very enjoyable to torture. He had spirit, and I loved breaking it."
Horror slowly began to tear up, but not in sorrow. Hot, furious, burning tears flooded his eyes. Horror felt anger build up in his small frame, scaring himself.
Dust was shaking violently, his despair turning to anger. It wasn't anger at the doctor, though, it was anger at himself, for letting something so horrible happen.
'If I had fought it. If I had done something differently. If I had fought to change something.'
Horror shook with rage and fear. Rage at himself for causing this, and rage at the doctor, for doing this. But mainly, fear at his own anger. He was afraid that he'd become consumed again. And that COULDN'T happen.
Horror looked over at Dust, feeling complete sorrow too. Dust didn't even know this kid, and why he was here. He was only half wrong.
(Yeah! Spoiler alert Horror!! Dust already knows this kid!! >w<)
Dust gripped at himself tightly, his fingers digging into his wrists, drawing blood, but he barely felt the pain through his overwhelming thoughts.
So he pressed harder, his fingers digging deeper into himself, drawing more blood.
Horror saw this, and immediately unclenched Dust's fingers from his wrists. "Dust! Stop, please! Leo's gone, I can't have you hurt in yourself too!"
