No recap, sry

Dust sighed. He didn't have any better leads. He decided to follow it.

The mark told Dust that this location of the mark was actually OUTSIDE the asylum, downtown in a nearby condo.

Dust frowned slightly at that realisation, but kept walking, hoping that this wouldn't lead to a dead end.

The hallway Dust currently in was supposed to have an exit ahead and to the left. Should he go?

Dust continued nervously, just hoping for something to come from this. Anything.

Eventually, like the map stated, a boldly-colored exit sign showed up, illuminating a door. Now the question remained, take the risk?

Dust exhaled softly, exiting through the door without hesitation.

He would risk anything for even a chance of seeing Horror again.

Outside, the sunlight was blinding, as the sound of the city whispered, and the blue of the sky over threw oceans.

Dust winced at the sudden natural light, completely unused to it, waiting a few moments for his nonexistent eyes to adjust slightly before continuing on, following the map.

The map only marked the apartment, giving a very brief location point. It seemed that he'd have to find this place on his own.

Dust sighed, starting to search for the place, determined, yet defeated, hoping to find Horror, but unable to think that he would logically be able to.

The city seemed packed, but luckily the general direction of Dust's destination was not too far away, due to road work.

Dust continued, just walking, hoping against hopes for Horror to be at this place.

Eventually, after a decently pleasant walk, the condos were just in sight. They didn't look bad, but old.

Dust folded the map carefully and placed it in his pocket, approaching the condos cautiously.

Nobody stood outside, yet the place didn't seem menacing like Dust had expected. Heck, it was kinda nice.

Dust bit his figurative lip, his nervousness growing as he got closer.

Just... What was he going to do if Horror wasn't there? He had no other ideas. None.

The lady at the front of the condos seemed nice enough, small and old. She happily asked Dust if he wanted a room, or who he was here to see.

Dust shrunk slightly, going basically frozen.

"I..." he breathed, otherwise speechless. He didn't know what to say.

"You's ok hon?" The lady asked, looking confused.

Dust shrunk more, giving the tiniest shake of his head, but still not speaking.

'Shit, how do you interact with people appropriately again? Human interaction.... What am I supposed to say? Ask?'

His non-existent throat was dry, and his mind was empty of words to say.

The lady stared at him for a loooonnmg moment, then she quietly pointed towards a waiting chair. "Sit there and...think about it honey."

Dust gave a small, embarrassed nod, hesitated, then decided to just wing it.

"Um... Is there a Dr. Deussbag here..?" he asked hesitantly, not sure what else he could ask. He figured that if Horror was even here, a room wouldn't be bought under his name.

"Oh? Mr. Duessbag lives upstairs. Are you visiting?" She asked.

Dust gave another small nod, hugging himself slightly.

"Yea, I am! Um... Sorry, I'm... Kinda really awkward around people..." he mumbled, smiling apologetically at the lady, not letting the small victory he was feeling show on his face.

"Do you know if he's in right now? I wanted to surprise him by coming here, and we haven't seen each other in a couple of months..." he said convincingly, knowing full well that the doctor wasn't going to return here ever again.

"It's ok. He's the third floor l, room 186. Tell him I said hi, he's such a sweet man." The lady commented, smiling and turning back to her work.

Dust smiled, nodding.

"Thank you, I will!" he called, before heading to the room number.

"Sweet man my ass," he muttered beneath his breath once he was a decent distance away.

After a long but awkward elevator ride and a short walk, Dust arrived in front of the room number. The door was locked, yet it had that creepily positive colored vibe.

Dust sighed quietly when he realised the door was locked, checking to see if there was a key anywhere.

The only things on or around the door was a welcome mat.

Dust checked beneath the welcome mat, doubting that anyone was actually welcome in the eerily positive place.

A key. Typical.

Dust sighed in relief, taking the key, inserting it in the lock and turning it, unlocking and opening the door, stepping into the room cautiously, closing the door after himself and pocketing the key.

The condo seemed dimly lit, and it maintained its eeiry atmosphere. After all, knowing what the doctor really was, vs what he made himself out to be in public. It could add dread to a room easily.

Dust frowned, stepping further into the room.

"Anyone home..?" he called out cautiously, internally begging for some form of response.

A small coughing sound could be heard, muffled and far away.

Dust's eye sockets widened slightly, and he immediately followed the sound, needing now to find who produced the noise.

The sound led him to a bedrooms and office area.

Dust looked into the area, desperately hopeful.

The noise seemed to be coming from a room, muffled, yet loud enough to hear.

Dust peeked into the room the sound seemed to be coming from, his eyes wide with anticipation.

It was a bathroom, but it was to dark to see inside without the light switch on.

Dust felt along the walls in search of a switch, biting his figurative lip.

Suddenly, the light drowned Dust's eyes, lighting up the room.

Dust blinked away his blindness with a small hiss of surprise.

Eventually the light lessened, making the room seeable.

Dust looked into the room properly when his sight returned properly.

The bathroom was small, but not horrible. A small sink, a toilet, and curtains blocking of what was most likely a bathtub.

Dust stepped further into the room, pushing away the curtains tentatively.

(Note)

Cliffhanger again. Damn, I'm proud of myself.

Tell me, who's behind the curtain guys? Who do you think?
