Recap
Dust laughed quietly, a smile tugging at his mouth.
"Hah, okay, okay," he said laughingly.
Recap End
The pair Sat at a small table, looking up at a small screen depicting nature. As Dust ate the sandwhich, his stomach seemed to magically ease.
Red finished his food, and turned to Dust. "Didja like it?"
Dust smiled, nodding.
"Yeah, it was nice, thank you," he said happily, feeling better now that he had eaten something.
Red smiled, and cleaned the remaining plates. Sci walked out of a room, now carrying a clipboard, some documents, and a scone.
"Hey Dust. I'll be back. Well see how this goes, kay? Welp, I'm off. Tell Red I left."
And just as Sci closed the door, a loud clanging noise rose from the kitchen
Dust gave a nod in response to Sci, then heard the clanging. He frowned slightly, rushing into the kitchen to check on Red.
Red stood in the middle of the kitchen, looking pissed. It appeared that a cabinet "exploded".
Red bent down begin cleaning up, not noticing Dust.
Dust stepped into the kitchen, seeming confused.
"Sci left... What happened..?" he questioned, bending down and starting to help Red clean up.
"Oh. Sci left? Thanks for saying. And well...I'm still no match for the height of the kitchen cabinets, it seems. Heh heh." Red smiled, reaching to grab a pot.
As Red reached for the utility, his sleeve fell down, revealing deep looking cuts on his hand, wrist, and arm. The sight was only visible for a second, before Red practically choked the sleeve upward, covering the scars.
Dust's eye sockets widened slightly, and his eye sockets stayed fixed on Red's arm, even though it was covered by his sleeve.
"Red..." he breathed out softly, his expression full of worry.
Red didn't look up on Dust, as his gaze stayed down on the cleaning.
"Yes?" He'd answered, as nonchalantly as possible.
Dust hesitated.
"...are you okay..? Your..." he trailed off, not wanting to bring it up, as it was sure to make Red uncomfortable, in the least. He didn't want to panic the other.
"What happened...?" he asked sadly, too worried to think.
Red looked down, hiding any emotion in his stare. His face just looked...blank.
"I wasn't always a scientist's assistant here, like I am now. I was originally brought here, because my father Gaster, worked here as a doctor. But then, he began doing experiments on me, when he could find no other subjects. Out of pure anxiety, I began cutting, to pass the time. Gaster killed my little brother Papyrus, but not me. He said he 'needed me.' I was so miserable, until an accident occurred."
Red took a deep, slow sigh, "Sci offered to have me help him out, after dad died. Sci was always so sweet, offering me food, shelter, a good job by his side. I love him, and I'd die for him. I stopped cutting, because of him. And if helping your friend here, stops you from also suffering a miserable fate here, at this asylum...then I'm all in."
"I...." Dust hesitated out of shock and horror, then brought the other into a soft, loose hug.
"I'm sorry," he murmured, feeling bad for bringing it up.
'I shouldn't have said anything,' he thought.
Red calmly hugged back, not moving or showing any emotion still. "It's fine."
Dust sighed softly, looking away slightly.
"I'm still sorry," he said quietly.
Red turned his head away, as well. But he seemed, a little less emotionless at least.
"Sci would've wanted you to know eventually."
Dust nodded slowly and hesitantly, his gaze lingering on the other for a while more.
"I guess," he said quietly.
"Sci wanted me to tell you everything. He thinks that if we know everything about each other, it'll somehow help our wellbeing. To be honest though, he's probably just interested in US talking. He doesn't have the BEST social skills after all, heh. I still love that nerd though." Red quietly chuckled.
"...huh," Dust murmured quietly, looking away slightly.
Red shrugged, softly pulling away from the hug. He then turned to the nearby fridge, and exposed two nice creams. He turned to Dust, trying to change the subject.
"Want one?"
Dust smiled softly, nodding slightly.
"Yea... thanks," he responded smoothly, smiling gently.
Red handed Dust a sticky cup, filled with nice cream. He then sat down, looking slightly concerned.
"Odd. I wonder why Sci isn't back."
Dust took the cup carefully, sitting down as well. He seemed more worried than what Red was showing.
"...maybe we should go check on him..." he mumbled, not liking how he had no idea what was happening.
Red nodded, standing up suddenly. He walked into the kitchen, and returned carrying a satchel.
"Yeah, let's go. I hope it's nothing but...still." Red nervously stated.
Dust nodded, standing up as well, visibly worried for Sci.
"Yeah," he said quietly.
Red walked towards the door, walking through and heading down a hall. The familiar sights of Dr. Duessbag's part of the asylum began to appear. A cloud of suffering filled the place, Red pushing forward.
Dust followed after Red quickly, wrapping his arms around himself loosely, his fingertips digging into his arms gently.
Red gazed quietly at the pale, scratched up walls that he passed by. He knew where Dr. Duessbag's conference room was, yet he somewhat felt dread fill his head. An eery silence filled the place.
Dust shivered lightly, continuing on silently, holding onto himself more tightly, his fingers digging into his arms slightly more.
Red turned and looked at Dust, immediately understanding his dread as well. The place was not to be underestimated, for sure. Red stopped for a moment, placing his hand on Dust's shoulder. "Its ok, man. I know we both have a bad feeling, but let's try to be optimistic. Well get Horror back. Sci is fine. We gotta believe."
Dust gave a tiny smile, nodding.
"Yeah... yeah, okay," he said quietly, letting go of himself.
'They'll be okay. Horror is okay. Sci is okay. It'll be fine,' he thought to himself. 'It'll be fine.'
Red turned and continued forward, coming upon a dark colored door, which had two tiny Windows. Not big enough to see through though. Red stared at the door nervously, trying to find confidence. 'The conference room.'
Dust hesitated as well, glancing at Red nervously, then pushed the door open.
'They're fine.'
Inside, everything was quiet. Except for the occasional sizzle of a machine, all was still. Red stepped in, looking around.
Inside the room, there was a desk, sitting area, two closets, a few machines, and a small place to get coffee and scones. No doctor. No Sci. Nothing.
