Extraordinary. Out of this world. Mind blowing. Unearthly magic.

That were the few adjectives she could think as she kissed Beca, their lips together and their tongues dancing to the music that comes from their mouth. Melodious hums and hungry moans, but gentle tugs and soft slips.

Chloe had imagined Beca only as a friend, her best friend. The girl who'd make sure she doesn't drink herself to death with vodka. Who'd help her whenever she needs it, without asking for it. The girl who'd never reprimand her for her decisions to let Chloe learn on her own.

That was how Chloe saw her all her life.

But this.

This made something shift in Chloe. She doesn't know what did it. Maybe it was the way Beca's eyes darkened considerably when their lips were mere inches apart. How, when their lips met, how gentle it was that she kissed Chloe, how she kissed the redhead like no other did. How her hands held the redhead's nape and lower back. How Beca pulled her closer when their tongues met. How she brushed Chloe's red lock of hair away for her eyes. How Beca hummed this sexy growl that just turned Chloe weak and made her moan herself. Maybe it was because of those things.

Kissing Beca was so different than kissing her past boyfriend's. Kissing Beca was not like kissing Tom, where he'd slam her on something flat and stuck his tongue down her throat without a second thought and grab her ass just because. Or how Sander would try and fiddle with Chloe's breast despite being in public while they kissed.

Beca was gentle and thoughtful. She was patient and respectful. It was so different to what Chloe was used to. It made Chloe realize, that she was treated so poorly by those guys and had been blind all along. It made her realize that she deserved better. That there was no sense on crying over them.

Beca kissed her like she really meant it, and Chloe couldn't help but to pull her closer, to take hold of Beca's left hand that diligently stayed on her lower back, to guide it on her ass. But when she did, she felt Beca's eyes open and saw how it widened and watched as Beca retreated back.

It reminded Chloe, that Beca wasn't gay at all. That she never really asked permission to kiss Beca and realized that the brunette only did it because she had no choice. And it hurt Chloe, other than those facts, it also hurt that Beca seemed to show that she didn't like Chloe like that.

And it also dawned on Chloe, that she liked the brunette in an intimate way. A feeling she passed off as being so close to the brunette all those years ago. It dawned on her that she procrastinated her feelings to only have it crashing on her now.

So Chloe backed off. Tried her hardest not to show the quiet hurt she felt when Beca backed away and retreated her hand to take Chloe's from around the pale girls neck and settle it between their bodies, an awkward smile grazed her face.

Beca didn't realize all the realizations Chloe was having at that moment. Only feeling guilty that she took advantage of the girl while she was emotionally unstable, but there was no going back now. She blushed and gave the redhead a bashful smile, a sort of an apology to show her that she didn't intend to. Something Chloe took the wrong way.

Clearing her throat, the oblivious brunette brought her eye back up to meet the redhead's questioning ones and asked,"So... Did you feel differently?"

Yes. Chloe wanted to say yes. She wanted to tell Beca that maybe she was indeed gay, and that she liked her. And that the kiss was the best she'd ever had. Yet she didn't. She can't risk her relationship with her best friend. Her straight best friend, so she smirked at Beca, a forced feature that the dense woman in front of her took as one of the redhead's mirthful grins.

"Nah..." Chloe giggled and dropped her head on Beca's shoulder, hiding the fact that she hid her smile that immediately dropped when she said that lie.

Beca for her part, knew that she put everything in that kiss. How it wasn't just the kiss she tried to let Chloe feel, how she tried to show her feelings too.

And the answer had made a crack on her heart too. But she couldn't really force Chloe to like her as well. She didn't want Chloe to be forced into something she is uncomfortable in. So she accepted the answer. For their friendship's sake.

"At least it was a great kiss... Right?" Beca joked, nudging Chloe with her shoulder, but Beca only heard Chloe hum, and realized that the redhead was fast asleep on her shoulder by her even breaths,"Wow, you even slept on me... It was either my kissing skills was bad that it made yoy tired or you're just really tired from crying," Beca's tone was sad as she said that, reaching forward to close the Macbook and to bring up the comforter, putting Chloe in a more comfortable position and pried herself off the redhead, and leaving the room.

Chloe peeked open an eye and watched Beca leave the room, sighing sadly with guilt in her heart as she realized that it had unsettled the brunette. That was also the reason why she feigned sleep, an art she had mastered back when she first got jer phone.

Beca must have thought she was a pervert who goes and kissed their best friend just off the bat.

Beca, for her part, left the room because she had felt emotionally unstable herself by being in that room with Chloe. The unbeknownst rejection had pained Beca dearly and she just needed a breath of fresh air to settle her overwhelmed emotions and to prepare herself to move on. But it made no sense, how can you move on when you weren't in a relationship anyways?

She just prayed to God that she won't be showing anything weird tomorrow when they wake up. Wished to the universe for the feeling to go away. For the hurt to leave her as fast as when love came in.

And she prayed that if it wouldn't leave, that Chloe would change her feelings towards the brunette and love her too.

But you can't really change someone unless they want to, can you?

The world was clearly against her.
