A KNOCK ON THE DOOR RESOUNDED ALL THROUGHOUT THE HOUSE as Aubrey, Beca and Chloe settled in. Catching each other's curious glances, Beca realized that neither one of them there knew anything about the visitor behind the closed door.

"Someone's at the door," Beca stated the obvious, her heart beating loud as the thought of seeing an old, familiar face from Barden unnerved her whole being.

"I'll go get it." Aubrey volunteered, knowing that neither of the two wanted to answer the door.

Beca and Chloe nodded, gulping as neither of them were prepared to get into a quarrel or have to shove anyone off. They settled themselves in the kitchen counter where they had a wide view of the front door all the while still being able to be hidden from whomever was out there.

They heard the door open and hushed tones immediately came through, Beca took note that Aubrey sounded surprised before she addressed the person at the door. Chloe's eyes looked up at Beca and saw her blowing small puffs of air through her mouth, clearly being overtaken by her nerves.

Beca's heart pounded through her chest, her breathing shuddery as she listened, wishing it was someone she didn't know, but let's face it, everyone knew anyone in Barden. It was a small town in the state of Atlanta, Beca knew everyone by name, if not so then by face and in which street they lived in, all of these information are neither knew nor old, it was just something there in her head, she didn't care, but she stored it away.

Chloe for her part, hoped it wasn't her mother, or Jacob, because she knew that the possibility of Beca bolting away would be greater when she sees them, just as she settled her feet in the dirts of Atlanta.

"The nerve..." The very familiar voice of one Stacie Conrad resounded through the whole kitchen as she stared Beca down, the brunette frozen in surprise.

When she was about to react at seeing Stacie there, two big arms wrapped around her and hoisted her into the air and off of the seat she was situated in, Amy's familiar grunt confirmed her suspicion that it was the Aussie who carried her and put her in front of a very well dressed Jesse Swanson, who looked like he's ready to give Beca a piece of her mind.

"Well I'll be..." Chloe smirked as she got off her own chair, walking over to where Aubrey was and crossing her arms as she watched the scene unfold,"I'll let you guys handle this one out."

"Rebeca Mitchell, you worried us." Jesse told her straight to the point, his eyes turning into one of a scowl as Stacie came forward to a frightened Beca and slapped her arm, making the small brunette yelp.

"Didn't we tell you to call us when you get to wherever you were going," Fat Amy crossed her arms as she sported the same icy glares her other companions had,"You worried us, shawshank."

Beca's sweat dripped down her forehead as she thought this one out, but she realized that she couldn't form no word after she was faced with them again. The feeling of unnerving intimidation was taken over by an overwhelming sadness and before she knew it, she was in Jesse's arms, her own are thrown around Jesse's torso as she cried.

She was so happy to see them, her eyes watered at the mere thought that they all really cared and felt guilt swarm her guts at the fact that she doubted her friends. She felt two pairs of arms around her too, and she realized that Stacie and Fat Amy had calmed down from their wrath.

Chloe and Aubrey watched on, though worried, left them be. They found themselves alone in the kitchen as Stacie lead the small brunette to the parlor to catch up, sending the two assuring glances as they followed them with their eyes.

"Poor Beca..." Aubrey sigh, her eyes falling down at her own cup of coffee, the same guilt that compelled her to find the brunette ate at her again,"She was so lonely."

"You should've seen her the first time I did." Chloe told the girl, her eyes a bit watery from watching the friends reunite, her eyes never leaving Beca where she was in the other room," She looked so broken down, Bree... Hopelessness was in her eyes and my heart just shattered. Knowing that I was somehow the part of the reason why she –" Chloe gulped the bitter feeling of loathing for her own childish blindness.

Aubrey's eyes flickered to Chloe and reached a hand up to rub soothing circles around Chloe's back, her best friend near breaking down herself as she thought of this.

"Everything's going to be alright, Chlo..." The blonde reassured, smiling when Chloe finally turned her eyes to her," You'll see."

Chloe nodded, but turned her eyes away for another thing, this time, it was shame she felt," I haven't told her."

Aubrey, despite herself, looked alarmed.

"What?"

"I haven't told her."

"Chloe –"

"I can't bare to tell her."

"You can, you just won't."

Aubrey pointed out, her posture growing stiff as she realized the risk of the situation and the disaster it could cost.

"Chloe, do you realize—"

"Yes I do!" Chloe hissed, eyes darting to where the group of friends went and was partially relived that none of them notices that Aubrey and her were arguing in the kitchen.

"Seeing that you haven't told her anything, you don't." Aubrey had that particular bite in her tone, it was a signal to Chloe that Aubrey was getting more and more agitated by the situation," You're one to talk that Beca doesn't trust you enough to stay, but it's really you who don't trust that she could stay," The blonde said as she stood up, her cold, unwavering eyes though never left Chloe as the redhead gulped and squirmed in her seat at the truth in Aubrey's words," She'd stay for you... And for Sophie. I thought that her agreeing to come to Barden despite of her fears was enough to assure you that she is here to stay, but apparently, you're still at the edge of your seat each time she looks agitated."

Aubrey walked a few feet away from Chloe as the redhead pulled her cup of tea closer to her chest, eyes downcast as Aubrey's words echoed in her head.

"Don't be an idiot, Chloe." Aubrey said as she started to walk away," Tell her about Jacob before tomorrow starts."

When Aubrey was gone, a single tear slipped over Chloe's cheek, and she made quick to get rid of it before Beca notices that she was upset. She looked up to find that the brunette was smiling again. It was a refreshing sight, and she became conscious to the fact that Beca had that same glimmer she used to have before everything that was shit happened to either of them.

Aubrey had a point, she has to tell Beca at some point, but she can't tell Beca about Jacob now. Maybe later, but for now, she wants this smile on Beca's face to last. She wanted it to last and she wanted to be able to formulate a good way of telling this to Beca. Of telling her about Jacob.
