The beast howled furiously while proceeding towards them. It was clear as day that things had taken a turn to the worse. The creature indeed, now stood, had grown out its arms and possessed even more armor like fur than before. Judging from its steady approach you could clearly see that it was no longer just a beast... It was the Keeper. Guardian of the first pathway.
"Now this seems interesting", Hael mumbled smirking to himself.
Carmel had taken her position a bit further back, near the edge of the bowl, signaling that she was ready. She stood with open arms, her cloack fluttering in the wind and faced the beast.
It seemed like the air was starting to ripple around her. Actually, it did and not only around her but around the whole bowl. Hale started counting again.
3. Phase two was about to begin.
2. The creature threw itself in full speed towards Heal leaving cracked footprints on the bedrock.
1. Go.
Hael dashed against the keeper and at the same moment the sky around the bowl lit on purple flames. From the whole width of the football stadium sized area, pillars of void fell down forcing Hael to instantly push his speed to the limits. Carmel that little witch... She sure didn't know how to hold back... And talk about a fast power up...
The creature on the other hand as expected got hit by the pillars but seemingly it didn't affect its ability to fight. Instead you could still see its health bar slowly decreasing, but the real question remained... Would that be enough?
The second phase seemingly had turned into a survival battle. Not only did Hael need to dodge the streams of void but he also had to survive the creatures new powers. Could he hold his ground long enough for the creature to wear down?
"Only one way to find out", smiled Hael in the midst of the battle jumping, rolling, sliding and repelling the attacks from every direction.
The Keeper slashed towards Hael with incredible speed and force, but he didn't give in. At this point straight up blocking the creature was out of the question, so now Hael used his swords to direct the creatures slashes to the ground or to the sides, allowing him to transfer the force from its attacks into his own movements.
...
Hael slid back, to avoid stream, then quickly rolled to the right to dodge a slam from the creatures claws. Right after he followed with jumping towards the creatures throat in order to slit it, but the Keeper retaliated by slashing from above. The rain of void streams gave Hael just enough time to operate on the attack.
He turned backside down in the air, held his blades in 75 degree angle and directed the creatures strong slash towards the ground and using its power gained yet again tremendous speed, with the cost of his arms growing severely strained.
He now, took new footing from the ground and jumped right back in to finish his attack. This time the Keeper had no time to react. Hael cut the creature in its jaw since that would ensure a clear hit to the hp due the lack of fur around the area. Not quite enough to finish it but surely a good chunk Hael thought and retreated just a tad back.
The keepers hp bar was around half way...
Just now, for the first time in Haels mind was pierced with a slight feeling of anger. They had been at it for quite a while now and they were half way? Just half way? He clenched his fists around the unhatched and launched a new attack.
Clearly this needed to be taken even more seriously, he already had the burning to go adventuring and this creature stood in his way... it stood in his way... while it had helped in awakening Carmel... It still stood in his way.
