Ch. 21 - Unfortunate but useful encounter

Finding a path from before was not much of a task when scouting from above. He could even see the outlines of the teleport circle in the midst of the rice fields. 

Hael didn't feel the need to glance back. Everything was already made home within his memory... 

He jumped down from the full height of 10 meters and landed on the grass with a soft roll. 

"..."

He glanced back anyways, just once more, and dove into the sea of green.

Swiping away the last grains Hael was through. He glanced forward to the familiar blue shining platform at the center of the small circle. He was finally ready to continue the journey. Now equipped with yet another reason to make haste. 

The forest chose him, out of everyone else. He would not let them down. Not them or anyone else. He would save everything. Even if it meant dragging the whole world on his shoulders...

The feeling of Saras lips pressing against his made a quick reappearance and slowly faded away allowing the usual excitement fused with anger to take its place. 

The mountain... Lord of the forest... and at the end, the God King... many opponents stood in Haels way... for now. This was his journey, his new life. Here he would be the one pulling the strings. This time, the only one possible of restricting him from challenging the world... Was himself. And that would never happen. 

Psyched and ready Hael walked on the platform and automatically got launched back into the mountain. Just as he had hoped.

"Mindless chatter"

WRRRRRRRRRRRR*

"...!...."

The platform at the third floor entrance started shining blue light and an unknown mechanical sound filled the air gathering everyones attention. The stone slab flashed brightly and revealed a person lightly jumping off it, instantly pulling a scary mask over his face. 

A black mask with neon green light shining through its eyes and neck. Similar ghostly green light shone from between his robes making him look completely different from everyone else. An unexpected encounter.

People became wary.

As Hael walked off the platform he noticed that there was crowd welcoming him. 

A big group of adventurers was loitering around the entrance. At that instant Hael pulled his mask back up to cover his face. He wouldn't want them to find out about his identity, nor anything about anything in the first place... Though they sure had made it far... 

The crowd grew more restless as Hael approached them. They apparently had not used the teleport so far. 

Frankly the situation wasn't pleasant for Hael either but he was not going to waste a single second inside the mountain anymore. As he made his way through the crowd towards the floor one of the adventures in leather gear walked in his way and stopped him,

"Hello stranger, Im the leader of this group Jesse K, pleased to meet you."

Hael didn't come here to interact with other adventures and found the situation growing even more disgusting, but still decided to play along. After all these people had come this far, given that there were many of them but still... It was worthy of some respect.
