*Step Step Step...*
He had lost track of time...
*Step Step StepStep Step Step...*
So much of it had passed...
*Step Step StepStep Step StepStep Step Step...*
And it was so boring...
*Step Step StepStep Step StepStep Step StepStep Step Step...*
The fourth floor was... even more unique than the others... In fact, to an extent that it never even appeared...
The stairs didn't stop.
"Thinking about it, the height differences between the floors weren't that big. So it made sense that some staircases would be longer... A lot longer."
Lone voice talked to himself in the dim tunnel.
The staircase continued smoothly upwards with no end in vicinity... The lighting was fading by each step though and even the air was stating to grow thick.
The steps halted and an arse was planted on a stair.
Hael decided to take a timeout in order to figure out, what was really going on.
If you though about it, the first floor had been heavy on the agility.
The second one strength.
Third floor of intelligence, and precision.
Now the fourth... If those three were already tested, that could possibly mean that the mountain would test your basic abilities, right? Right. So this would either be... Recovery or endurance...
When the word "endurance" appeared in his mind, a reaction came from his spinal chord.
Hael sprung forward as fast as he could and exactly at that moment a cloud of fire erupted from the roof burning the spot he had just sat on and immediately after started rapidly closing in on him.
In his mind this was not a fair trap so Hael decided to slightly help others. As fast as he could he carved on the ground one word, "RUN" and then followed his own advice before the fire could reach him.
So, now.
With a massive cloud of fire chasing after him, Hael ran like the wind up the stairs feeling the warmth of the flames with every step.
Notable was that the fire chased Hael at his own speed which was fast... really fast, in comparison to most other adventurers, basically meaning that the floor was made to give challenge to everyone, unlike the third one, but that only made Haels day better. A challenge is what keeps things interesting.
So the time flew by as did Hael while chasing the end still far behind the horizon.
...
A-a light... I- I think theres s-something up aha-ahead. The sounds of a two pairs of shoes dragging upwards, and occasional slaps from palms hitting the stone one step at a time, was the only sound that could be heard from the poorly lit staircase.
Hael was almost on full 4v4 mode after running for about two days straight. Yes, two full days had passed since he left the forest. Truly a challenge... But that was just the way it should be. It was safe to say that the challenge had turned out to be more exhausting than Hael had expected... even with his endurance... that was definitely his forte...
Still a certain sense of nostalgia was enough to bring a smile on his face, a voice, would have been nice as well but it was too hard for Hael to breathe in more than he absolutely had to, not to mention any other unnecessary movement.
