Ch. 24 - Expected and unexpected friends

Hael jerked up from the ground and stumbled right back down. There was no way he could have recovered in such a brief period of time... 

After a flow of curses he crawled closer the wall and climbed up slower, then dragging himself to the edge trying to find more information about the noise and his situation. 

After intensely gazing into the horizon for a while, gradually growing black shadow could be seen heading towards the mountain. 

A cold sweat started running down Haels back as he thought about the current situation. Could it be that the final challenge was about to take place right here and now...and further more which was it? 

If there was going to be a mini boss fight or anything of similar strength here it was going to be bad. Hael opened up his inventory to search for recovery boosts, but suddenly remembered the popup, he had received just a moment ago. Hael hurriedly opened the notification window and laid his eyes on the text.

"Congratulations on completing all the challenges. You are now one door and enemy away from concurring the mountain and the first realm of Infinity. 

You have been deemed worthy by the Gods of Infinity, therefore a friend will shortly appear." 

Hael read the message again. 

"A friend? All of the challenges completed? What on earth... so the shadow rapidly closing would be this "friend" and there were no more challenges?"

There were still too many questions yet to be answered,  but not much he could do about it... Thus Hael decided to brush them off and just take whatever was thrown at him. 

Sigh'

He sat down at the edge and focused on inspecting the creature that, as it closed in, slowly started revealing small details.

It was black... covered in raged...stones? Scales?

massive, thin, body,

wings, more than 3o meters in diameter,

"...and...is that a spiked tail... and...uhh...", 

Haels eyes started shining as he finally realized what it was. 

"A DRAGON, A REAL DRAGON"

First these amazing powers, amazing weapons, comrades, adventure, nature, forest, challenges, and now even dragons?? 

In that instant Hael was flooded by all the amazing things that this world had presented him and it still managed to get better. 

Tears of joy wet his cheeks as he once again was about to faint from the shock of having his dreams come true. 

It took a while to recover but before the creature could land Hael had dried his face and stepped aside in order to give it room... and it really did land. 

The sunlight was blocked and the strong currents ran around the cave beating its walls as the massive creature moved its wings to gracefully take ground. 

The creature filled almost the whole open area of the cave until it drew its wings together, scraping their rock hard tips against the walls of the cave sending sparks flying all around the area... and started looking around. 

Hael stood his ground looking at the marvelous creature until it turned towards him focusing its golden eyes piercing gaze. Hael too was drawn into the golden gaze and with excitement and interest answered it. 

For a short while both just stared at each other trying to figure out more in a complete silence and then a deep voice like thunder came out from the dragons jaws,
