I don't know how, but I managed to stay awake the whole night and still get up from bed without being tired. This morning I was called in because apparently the stove broke in the cafeteria and I was their last resort or something like that.
I watched as students passed by in the hall, some just minding their own businesses, some giving the occasional smile and wave. They don't know who I am but they weren't nosy. When I got to the kitchen I was greeted by the chef and some teachers who were trying to fix the stove.
"Ahh, Janitor-san!(That's what the chef calls her lol) Thanks for coming!"
"No problem," I said with a bored expression.
I scanned the room filled with teachers and kitchen staff. I could pick some of their names out of memory. Cementos, Present Mic, Thirteen, and there was another one with blonde hair and tiny blue pupils. My eyes were eventually led to a dark clothed gloomy man staring at me. I gave a small salute to which he nodded in response as I knelt down to figure out what the problem was.
After a few minutes of searching and feeling pressure under so many gazes, I found the problem.
"Ah, the whole thing is broken, see?" I pointed to the cables connected to the wall which were burnt out. "It must've reached its limit. You'll need to buy a new one."
"Oh.. really? Well, that's a shame." A familiar soft voice called behind us.
We all turned to see the principal with his regular lighthearted smile.
"I guess I'll have to call somebody to bring us some new ones." He continued.
"I can do it." I held up my hand. "Just tell me the brand and model unless you want a different one?"
"If it's not too much trouble for you "____-san" then, please. I'd like the best model you can find." The principal's smile widened.
"Alright, then I'll be back in a few." I got up and motioned to leave until the principal spoke up again.
"If it's ok with you "____-san", I think it would be best to take someone for help."
"Sure." I nodded.
"Who'd like to go with her?"
Present Mic threw up his hands. "I'll go and help her!"
"No, I'll go." Someone with a low voice quickly objected. "Nothing ever gets done with you around."
"HEY! At least I'm not a grump like you!" Present Mic crossed his arms and pouted.
"Alright then, Aizawa will go." The principal waved goodbye and left for his office.
The slouchy man walked up to me and held out his hand. "After you."
Our walk was pretty peaceful and quiet besides the fact that I could feel him glaring at me from behind. I took a few glances back to make sure it was him but every time he'd look away and when I looked back ahead I'd feel them again. This continued on until we got to the appliance shop.
As we entered we were greeted by a young female employee.
"Hi there! Welcome to Kitchen Appliances, are you looking for something specific?"
"Hello, yes actually we're looking for a long stovetop oven, I'd like to see your newest models please."
"I see, right this way!" The lady pointed down towards an alley lined up with stovetops.
As I was about to follow I felt a tug on my shirt.
"Hmm?"
Aizawa held onto my sleeve and pointed to the couch in the corner with his free hand.
"Are you going to rest?"
He nodded.
"Alright, I'll come to get you when I'm done then."
I watched as he shifted over to the brown leather couch and laid down.
What a weird guy.
After an hour of searching and listening to different descriptions of each model I chose one of the best brands on the list. A delivery man would come and drop off the stoves later in the afternoon.
"Thank you for shopping!" The lady called out as I searched for Aizawa.
I poked his sleeping face. "Hobo-san, let's go."
He slowly opened his eyes and stared into my (e/c) eyes. I stared in awe.
What beautiful eyes...
"Let's go now."
He hesitantly got up and almost tripped while taking a step. Luckily I caught him by the arm.
"Careful now, you wouldn't want to hurt your old body." My face was smug, trying to hold back my laughter.
He stared at me with a confused look.
"Come on now old man." I pulled him out of the store.
"Uhm, you can let go now." The hobo man spoke.
"Wha-oh s-sorry, I didn't even realize I was still holding onto you." I abruptly let go. Though I wanted to hold onto him longer. I've been longing for physical touch this past week. BUT ANYWAYS...
After we got back and the delivery guy dropped off the new appliances I went straight to work.
When I finished I got up and was met with a bunch of eyes. I hadn't realized there were people watching me since I had my headphones on.
I quickly turned back to the new stove and flipped the switch. Many "Awes and Ooos" fell out of their mouths.
"Thanks so much, Janitor-san!" The head chef clasped his hands together.
I shrugged. "It's my job... Here are the instructions on this pamphlet. You should hang it up somewhere." I held out a blue and white laminated piece of paper.
"Ah, thank you!"
"See ya." I waved and walked out of the cafeteria into the hall.
As I was about to leave through the large door I heard footsteps behind me.
I turned my head. "What's up Hobo-san?" I said emotionlessly.
