C H A P T E R 9

—nova's pov—

the uber dropped me off by the beach, i looked around to see if i could spot him through the crowd. unfortunately, the crowd got larger so i called him

'hello?' he asked sweetly

'hey, i'm here, where are you' i ask still looking around

i hear him snicker through the phone

'come on daniel' i laugh

suddenly a pair of arms wrap around my waist, i giggle as he rested his head on my shoulder

'hi star' he kisses my cheek

'hi seavey' you smile at him, i turn in his arms

'you look so tired' you say, eyebrows furrowing

'i know, but hey, it's ok cause i can push through' he smiles

'you really should be resting daniel' i place my hands on my hips

'well i don't want to' he pouts

'ugh you're impossible daniel' i laugh

'i know i am' he states before holding my hand

we stroll through the crowds and find a spot near the shore. he takes off his shirt as i take off my cover up

'dang you're beautiful' i hear him awe

'why thank you, and you don't look too bad yourself' i respond

'come on' he gestures me to follow him

we run into the water and mess around. he sends a small wave of water towards me, and i do the same. the sand slips from underneath my feet, daniel immediately catches me on his arms

'gotcha' he smiles, his arms secured around my waist

i smile at him as he dips his head for a kiss.

after a couple of hours, he agrees to head back to my house. he said that he's already packed a days worth of clothes in his backpack.

both of us enter into my house, he looks around the new home as i throw the dirty towels into the washer. he follows me upstairs, i point him to the guest bedroom where he could change and shower

after an hour, i walk out of the shower and dry off my damp hair. daniel knocks on the closed door, i quickly throw on some comfortable clothes and open the door to a smiling blue eyed boy. i invite him in, he then lays down on the bed. he's only wearing shorts, his hair is soft and slightly damp.

'come here' he pleads holding out his arms

i giggle as i walk up to the bed and cuddle into his arms.

'your hair smells nice' he says as i lay on his bare chest

'strange thing to say while cuddling, but thank you' i laugh

'hey! it's the truth!' he defends himself

'you're way too cute' you say

'not as cute as you' he responds

'ok, we don't need to flirt like middle schoolers' i kiss his nose before getting up

he groans as i leave his arms, 'come back' he pouts

'i'm getting the remote, chill seavey' i sternly say before shutting off the light and heading back to the bed

the sun sets through the thin curtains, the day slowly turns into night. daniel cuddled me in his arms, we watched various disney movies.

—daniel's pov—

as we watched the movies, i couldn't stop watching nova dance and sing to every song.

'what?' she asked as she suddenly stopped

'nothing' i say, 'it's just you have an absolutely amazing voice'

'i don't sing that well though' she blushes

'are you kidding me?! you're amazing!' i throw my hands up in the air

'really? that's a lot coming from a singer' she sits next to me

'yes really nova, you're amazing' i smile at the blushing girl

'thank you' she replies, covering her face

i smile at her once more, i bring her to my chest and we watch the rest of the movies

it was around one in the morning, the fifth or sixth movie had just ended so i looked down to find nova sound asleep. i turn off the tv and tuck her into bed. pulling the covers over me, i brush a strand of hair from her face.

'good night star' i whisper before closing my eyes

'good night ocean eyes' i hear her mumble

she shuffled closer to me and buries her face into my chest. i kiss her head while wrapping an arm around her body. then sleep finally consumed the both of us
