C H A P T E R 35

quick a/n, i probably wont be updating for a bit since 1) school starts next week and 2) im getting surgery on the 3rd so it'll probably take a lot of energy just recovering, so im gonna take it easy for the rest of this month. but i hope 2019 treats you guys well :)

—daniel's pov—

it's been a month and a half since nova and i had reconnected, i honestly couldn't be happier

'dude we're finally going home' zach groaned as he rolled his suitcase up to the uber

'i can finally sleep in my own bed' corbyn replied

it was nice to finally have a break from our chaotic life. additional shows and radio tours got added into the schedule which pushed our break further then we had hoped. nova was disappointed at the fact that i'd be home later then originally said, but she was happy nonetheless that i was still coming home

as we rolled our suitcases to the terminals, we waved corbyn goodbye as he walked to his designated gate.

'so are you going home after we land, or are you going straight to nova's house' jonah asked as he took a seat at our designated gate.

'probably go home, say hi to everyone and head over to nova's' i stated

'sounds eventful' jonah nodded

it was obvious that we were all sleep deprived, but the excitement of going home kept us awake until we boarded and got to our seats

once we landed, we all said a quick hi to the fans as we made our way to baggage claim. once we got our suitcases, the guys waved goodbye to one another as we all went our separate ways.

'hey daniel!' i hear a familiar voice exclaim

i look up from the sea of girls to see my mom standing off to the side

'hey mom!' i yell over the girls

i quickly walk over to her and plop my suitcase next to our feet as i give her a hug. a group of awe's go through the crowd.

'i missed you so much' she smiles

'i've missed you too' i reply

'when we get in the car, you've gotta catch me up on everything that's been happening' she states

'i will mom' i chuckle as i grab my stuff and follow her out to the car

after a long car ride, the car rolls up to the apartment complex, i get out and grab my things before heading in.

'i know you'll probably sleep for a while, so i made some food for you and i put it in the fridge so you can heat it up when you're hungry' mom smiles as she unlocks the door

'thank you' i say to her as i pull everything inside the room

'hey bud' dad smiles as he walks over and gives me a hug

'hey, i've missed you guys' i state as i hug him

'where's anna?' i ask, letting go

'oh she's in her room' he replies as i give him a nod

'i'll take care of your clothes, go relax' mom smiles as she takes my suitcase

i mouth a thank you before walking over to anna's room, as i approach the door, i hear two muffled voices.

'hey i'm home' i day, knocking on the door

i hear footsteps before seeing the door open, revealing anna

'hey how are you?' she questions before giving me a hug

'tired, but i'm doing good' i reply, hugging her back

as i hug her, i look up to see no other than nova

'nova?' i ask, letting go of anna

'hey daniel' she beams

'i invited her to come over so we could talk and he to know each other better' as chuckles

'we've got a lot in common, and i think i just found my new beach buddy' nova winks

'well i'm glad you two are getting along' i give a tired smile

'i'll leave you two to catch up' anna replies as she allows nova to exit her room

'hey' i whisper to nova as i hold her hand

'hey, it's been a while' she responds with a chuckle

we walk over to my room and shut the door, nova wraps her arms around my neck and pulls me into a kiss

'i'm sorry i couldn't come home earlier' i frown after pulling away

'hey it's ok, the important thing is is that you're here now' she smiles

'you look exhausted' she states, cupping my face in her hands and running her fingers along my eyebags, 'you should sleep'

'i know i need sleep, but i wanna spend time with you' i reply, leaning into her touch

'how about this, go catch up on your sleep, and then we can spend some time together' she states

'nova, i'm only on break for 5 days or so, i wanna be able to spend as much time with you as possible, wait' i ramble

'what?' she questions

'would you like to come with us for our holiday tour' i ask

'hm, lemme see what i can do so i can go' she replies

'well, i hope you can go, the rest of the guys miss you and they won't stop bothering me until i tell them how you're doing' i laugh

'oh, maybe i'll rethink about it then-'

'nope, no rethinking' i quickly respond, i wrap my arms tightly around her waist and pull her closer
