C H A P T E R 34

its a little shorter than my other chapters, but i didnt feel like rushing the plot cause i feel like i've been doing that quite a bit

—daniel's pov—

i pull back and hold her in my arms. i admire her as her hair blows in the wind, her eyes sparkle in the moonlight. we both lean in and share a kiss under the stars.

'i missed you so much' i state as i lean my forehead on hers

'i missed you too, why did we even break up?' she questions

'i really don't know, but let's try this again. this time, i'll make sure to clearly communicate with you and find a solution instead of fighting with you. i hate arguing, especially with you' i reply with a sad expression

'then let's do it, let's try all this again. i'll make sure to listen to you and to communicate with you as well, i know i can be a little hot headed at times, but you know my reasons' she smiles

'well then in that case, will you be my girlfriend again' i smile at her

'of course' she laughs

'let's go back to your house, it's getting a little cold' i respond, shivering in my place

'alright let's go-'

'oh actually before we go' i interrupt

i look towards the grave that marks the name 'coleman everett' and kneel down in front of it

'i promise i'll take good care of her' i say before brushing off some dirt at the base and fixing the flowers that were blown slightly in the wind.

i stand back up and take nova's hand and walk out of the cemetery.

we finally walk up to the porch and head inside.

'welcome back kiddos' mrs everett smiles from the couch

'hey mom' nova exclaims as she shuts the door

i take a look at my phone to check the time '10:15 pm'

'shoot, i need to get back to the hotel' i state, a frown set on my face

'awe, well i hope i can see you soon' nova exclaims as she wraps her arms around my neck

i stand in awe for a second before wrapping my arms around her

'i'll call you when i can, i'll be back in california in a couple weeks so maybe i'll see you then' i reply kissing her head

'i'll probably be home by then, so i'll see you then' she smiles as she lets go

'well i hope to see you around daniel' mrs everett exclaims as she gets up from the couch and hugs me

'i cant wait to come back' i reply, giving her another bright smile

i head out and call an uber, a couple minutes later, a silver car rolls up and i get in

at around 11:40, i finally arrive at the hotel. i walk up to the room and unlock the door, i see eben sitting on his bed, his laptop on his lap as he concentrates on the bright screen

he looks up from his laptop and pulls off his headphones, 'so how'd it go?' he asks

'it went really well' i smile to myself

'oh so what happened' he questions

'nothin much, except i got my girl back' i nonchalantly reply

'dude that's great! do the guys know yet?' he asks

'nope, they're all asleep and i'd rather not wake them up' i shrug

'well i feel special being the only one' he chuckles

i explain the events that unfolded tonight as i began to change and get ready for bed when we hear a knock, i look at eben as we look towards the door. i walk up and look through the peephole to see corbyn and jonah waiting impatiently outside

'um what do you guys want-'

'we heard your conversation and we want to know everything' corbyn breathes out as the two storm into the room

'dude it's almost 1-'

'don't care, we're still gonna listen' corbyn huffs as they sit on my bed

'fine, if it means having the two of you leave after' i roll my eyes

'deal' jonah chuckles
