The Truth

Feel free to comment and point out any mistake, I appreciate it because otherwise I would end up just leaving it and no one would understand the story or what I meant.
The thing is, no one really accepted anxiety. Heck, Virgil wasn't even his real name. He wouldn't let them take that form him. The others accepted the character Virgil, but not Anxiety. He got along with them in the videos, but the only one who was nice to him outside of them was Thomas. He actually accepted Anxiety, not just Virgil. The others just did it for the videos. Anxiety didn't know what he would do if Thomas found out. It's not that he couldn't handle the others being mean to him, it's just, he knew how important honesty was to Thomas. He didnt want the others to get in trouble. He didn't blame them, he really didn't, he knew how hard it would be to accept him. If he was the others, he probably wouldn't accept him too.
Unfortunately, with the last video being uploaded, he others were much more wary of lying. They didn't want to feed into Deceit anymore than they already had, so Patton called a meeting, inviting everyone, even Anxiety, much to the others displeasure.
"I'm sure you all know by you're here." Patton said .
"I don't know actually, and I also don't know why he's here." Roman declared angrily, pointing at Anxiety.
"Well this discussion will concern him so I thought he should also come."
Logan picked up where Patton left off. "After the last video, we have decided that it's best that we don't lie to Thomas anymore, we don't want another mishap with Deceit.,"
"We thought it was best that we told him how we end really treat you kiddo." Patton said to Anxiety .
"NO!" His outburst startled them all. "Sorry, but you guys can't do that. What will be think o-"
"We don't care What he thinks of you" Roman sneered. "We're not letting that snake control Thomas any longer."
" No, that's not what I m-"
"I think that it is wrong, and that we should tell him. We can't keep lying to his face over and over again." Logan said, clearly angered.
"But what will he th-"
"Kiddo, I think it's best we tell the truth."
"But what will be think of you!" He finally exclaimed, cutting them all off.
"What do you mean?" Roman asked indignantly .
"He-he might be upset with you guys. You did it just for the video, he's he didn't."
"Either way it's still best to just come clean."
Anxiety realized that none of them were going to see reason before his panic attack got worse, so he just sink out, muttering one final 'no' in Patton's direction.
"They were so nice to you back there. They totally understood what you meant."
"Drop it Deceit, the others aren't in here, you don't have it keep up that facade."
Deceit scowled, but didn't say anything.
"So why are you in here?"
( Note: Deceit doesn't always lie, he just does in front of the other sides to seem more "authentic" in case you didn't get that)
"I saw how bad the others treated you, and I know you don't deserve it. We're both misunderstood. "
"Yeah, sorry I had to pretend to hate you for the videos."
"Its alright, as long as you get treated alright by them in the videos, you can do whatever you like in them."
" I'm not so sure I am still going to though. "
"What me to help?"
" What are you gonna do? "
"I'll do what I do bets, try to get them to lie."
"Okay" he said slowly , a did unsure.
"Why do I feel like I can't trust you right now?"
"Worry about it" he said, slipping back into the facade of always lying.
"You know I will."
And with that, Anxiety fell unconscious, and Deceit changed his from to look like "Virgil" .
~Time skip~
"Come on. You can't lose Thomas' trust. what if he doesn't believe you when you say anything anymore?"
" And what would happen if he found out on his own terms? Usually you're so against lying, aren't you usually the one that's worried about what will happen if someone finds out we lied? "
"Yeah, and I know that it's morally wrong, so I'm not just trying to go against you Patton, and I'm sorry if it seems like I was, but I just think that we should just keep this to ourselves." 'Anxiety' said.
In the end, they ended up telling the truth to Thomas.
"So you're saying that Virgil isn't even your name? And that the others have been treating you horribly?" Thomas asked , clearly upset.
"Well if course they treat me horribly." 'Anxiety' said.
"What do you mean?" Thomas asked now confused.
"Well just like 'Virgil'" he said, making quotation marks with his hands , "I can be a good guy, they just refused to notice."
"That's why you were so prone to lying! " Patton exclaimed, leaving everyone else confused.
"Logan, what's another word for falsehood?"
" Lies, deception, deceit, fib- oh. "
"Deceit?!!!"
'Anxiety' changed back. I his original form. "How'd you figure it out?"
"You referred to Virgil in their person, even if he is just a character, you put quotation marks around the name, meaning you were referring to Anxiety."
"Speaking of which, what did you do with (my heart)Vi-Anxiety?!!"
" And why? " inquired Logan.
"Oh, he totally didn't want to protect you guys form Thomas' harsh reaction, he definitely doesn't care for you guys even though you love him so much."
"But what did you do to him?" Roman asked , upset that the villain had bested them once again. "
"Oh, I totally didn't just put him of sleep for the rest of the day, he definitely won't so we up like normal tomorrow. "
"Then what will we do? When will he wake up?! " cried Patton.
"Patton, he lies, so Anxiety will take up like normal tomorrow. But again, why? Did you do it against his will?"
" Yes. I'm totally not his only friend. "
"Why would he trust you? He said lying made him more uneasy." Thomas asked, confused again.
"Because I never lie in front of you guys, and I always lie when talking to him. He was never just pretending to hate me, just like you guys never pretended to accept him for a video. And I totally don't feel like I'm in an unwanted interview here."
"Where is Anxiety?" Patton asked, obviously concerned about his 'kiddo'.
"In his room. Can I go to now?"
" Were you just, we're you just honest with us? " Roman asked, surprised.
"I told you, I'm squashing in front of you, but in front of someone I trust, or when I'm really tired, I speak normally."
" Okay. Thanks Deceit. " Thomas said.
"Oh and, for the videos, I don't care if you still act like you hate me. But don't act that way to Anxiety again, or there will be consequences."
"Note to self: never mess with Deceit" muttered Thomas.
~Skip to next day~
Anxiety's P.O.V.
"What,... what happened?" I think aloud . Then I remember what happened yesterday with Deceit.
"De" I call out, hoping he'll hear me.
"Yeah?"
" What did you do while I was, ya know, asleep? "
Deceit looks away, looking ashamed. " I uh, might have failed at getting them to lie to Thomas. " he whispers after a minute, embarrassed.
"Hey, it's okay. You tried your hardest right? That's all that matters."
"No! It's not okay! My job is to get Thomas to lie! If I can't even do my job, then what good am I? "
"Hey! Self-deprication is my thing!" I say jokingly . "Its fine. We can't all do our jobs 100% of the time, it would drive Thomas insane. And you sixth tail at getting Thomas to lie, you failed at getting Morality, Logic, and Creativity to lie. Plus they were being more wary ever since the Can Lying Be Good? episode. It's fine. It's not like I'm mad. Just tell me what happened." I say, hoping to calm him down.
"Alright." He says, and begins to explain to me.
"So you're saying, you made me call asleep, tried it convince them to lie, but they were too stubborn, and then basically did a AnA with them once they realized it was you."
" Yeah" he says sheepishly.
I laughed. Like an actual, full blown laugh. Pretty soon be noise me, until we were both rolling around on the floor with laughter. After we finally composed ourselves, I decide to be the first to talk.
"Oh man, it's been a long time since I've laughed that hard." We're both still smiling like goons. Then we hear a crash.
Patton's P.O.V.
We were all in the living room, when we heard someone call out, loudly.
"De?"
" I whisper think Anxiety is awake now. " Logan says.
"Yeah, let's go check on him." I syw, and we sneak sink down to be real world .
"I think count Woe-loff is awake." Roman says.
"Do you think you're awake enough to sink is down to his room again?" I ask, I don't want it do this if he is too tired.
"Yeah. Let's go." He says in his normal happy voice. Thankfully this hasn't affected him too much.
We sink out, but he's not in the living room part. We decide to go upstairs. We see him on his bed, talking to Deceit. Well that's a surprise I think, but we just stand there, listening in.

Anxiety says . who knew he would eh this good at comforting people? Or that Deceit would be so insecure?
"Alright." Deceit says, and begins to explain. After he's done Anxiety starts to talk again.

"Oh man, it's been a long time since I've laughed that hard." They're both still smiling happily. Until Thomas starts walking forwards to knock, but trips and lands with a huge crash!

Deceit's P.O.V. (Bet you didn't see that coming)
I'm glad I have a friend like Anxiety. I was feeling so nervous, and before you can it as when room, his room only affects the light sides. Hence why Thomas wasn't affected by his room. He isn't a light side, he isn't even a side at all. Me and Anxiety, being "dark sides" as Roman rubber them, weren't affected by each other's rooms. I was so insecure, but he always knew exactly what to say to calm me down.  I was dreading telling him what happened, but he just made me laugh about it. Despite being the embodiment of anxiety, he sure did know how to cheer someone up. We were both still smiling, when we heard a crash. We turned, and saw all the sides, and Thomas, standing in his doorway. In fact, it looked like Thomas was the one who had fallen, making the crash sound. I was fuming. They take away his last but of kindness, and then they had the gall to invade this privacy? They looked like They were about to knock, but now long were they there? come to think of it, I remember seeing something out of the corner of my eye when I said that it as sky job to get Thomas to lie. I just didn't pay attention to it then. I jumped up, working over to them. Anxiety  just looked startled at how mad I was.
"Hey, De, it's okay, d-"
Ignoring him, I marched right up to them and practically shouted,
"What did I say about messing with him?! You will pay. You take away your last bit of kindness for him, and you have the gall, to try form here and invade his privacy?! Who do you think you are?!"
Everyone looked terrified. I was about to raise my fist, but I felt a hand holding me back. I looked back surprised, even more so to see it was Anxiety holding me back.
"Let's not do  anything we're going to regret now."
" Oh, I won't regret this. "
"Alright, let me rephrase that, let's not do anything rash."
I looked back, still surprised. "You're standing up for them?"
He says nothing.
"How long were you here for?" I finally ask.
"Um, since you said it was your job to get Thomas to lie?" Patton answers. He sounds like he's sure the answer is going to upset me , and inside if he should really be answering or not. Yes right about the fact that it would make me angrier.
"And when see you planning on telling us that you were eavesdropping?"
" I uh, was actually about to knock but I tripped, thats why you heard a crash. " Thomas says sheepishly.
"Patton, don't you think eavesdropping is a bit, immoral?" Anxiety asks.
" I'm so sorry kiddo! We just heard that sentence, and we didn't want to knock on the middle of that, and I know we probably should've left for now, but we just kinda got, ... interested I guess? Like when you're watching the TV, and it's not even a show to like, but just kinda get wrapped up in it anyways? I never meant to invade your privacy, I'm so so sorry y, I hope you can forgive me? "Patton asks. How dare he ask for forgiveness after doing this to him. I guess Anxiety was just full of surprises today because he says "Sure, I can forgive you, seeing as you apologized."
He says the last bit a little pointedly, obviously since the others haven't apologized yet.
"I wish to say I am sorry too. I know that you like your privacy, and I should have respected that." Logan says. I'm surprised that he was next, I surely thought it would be Thomas, but then I realize he cut Thomas off before he could speak.
"Me too. I hope there is some way I can make it up to you, I know you went through a lot, and Patton's right, we should have left once we realized what was happening, but we didn't, and the is no excuse for that."
"Its okay Thomas. And Logan, just keep that in mind next time. "
I glare at Roman. "What?" he asks.
I lift my fist again. "Some prince you are. You want even apologize when you were in the wrong! "
"I wasn't in th-" He's cut off by my fist meeting his jaw. I see something orange on th side of my face. I forgot that, as one of the more powerful dark sides, fibres of speech I hear from other people, sometimes become literal for me.
"Look Logan, I'm you! " I say, laughing, but the laugh has no real humour in it.
"What?" He asks, very clearly concerned.
"Flames. On the side of my face. Seething fire." I say, imitating him.
"How dare you! You, a villain, hitting a prince! Why, I ought to-" He's cut off again by being punched, this time in the stomach.
"De! Stop!" Anxiety yells.
I look for him, to Creativity, back to him.
"Fine. But only because you want me to."
He looks relieved. He snaps his fingers, and Roman isn't doubled over in pain any more.
"Let's just get this over with." Roman says , still glaring at me.
"Anxiety, I hope you know, I didn't but accept you for the video. I do think that I benefit from having you around. I really hope you know that. " Thomas says.
"I also want to say, tango really do think of you as my dark strange son. And I mean what I said in that card, I just guess I don't show you much outside of the videos." Patton said, looking upset.
" I too below that we could benefit from having you around. We all discussed it last night and agreed that you are still a part of this group." Logan stated.
"I guess, I should apologize for the way I've acted. I never have you a chance,and for that, I am sorry. I should also probably apologize for listening in earlier, though next time, try not to literally bets some sense into me. "
"I'm not gonna apologize for that. I warned you."
Anxiety chucked at that.
"Thank you guys. But I don't like appreciate it if you didn't spy on me before saying those things."
"Will do" said Thomas with a smile.
