Virgil's P.O.V. (Takes place after the Crofters Musical video)
There was a lot the other sides didn't know about me. One of those things was that I had some sort of magic powers. I don't really know how or why, I just know that I can heal, I can make spires rise from the ground, and I can create a force field. I've never had to use any sort of attack magic, though I'm pretty sure I have it. The spires usually happened when I felt angry or cornered, but I'd learned how to control it when I was in front of the others. So that's why I was terrified when Roman said that we should go fight the Dragon Witch.
We are currently heading into the imagination. I'm scared out of my mind, Logan has a bow, Patton and I have shields, and Roman has his sword. We arrive at the the cave.
"Dragon Witch! We demand your company! Come out and face us for a duel!"
The Dragon Witch emerges, and immediately breathes fire at us. Everyone is so busy ducking, that they don't notice the brief force field I create. Well, the other sides don't notice. The Dragon Witch and I do though.
"Oh, so this one has a few tricks does he?" She asks in a mocking tone.
I can't help it this time. I know she'll point it out eventually, so I create the biggest spires I can, and drop my shield. She breathes fire again, and I create the force field, but this time I'm controlling it. Suddenly, my hands are glowing red. The red light leaves my hands and hits the Dragon Witch directly in the chest, making her fall over in pain. I do this again, more in control this time, while everyone stares in shock. As the Dragon Witch dies, I realize that Patton did end up getting burned the first time. I go over to him and heal him with a blue glow. He just stands there in shock.
"You okay? She didn't hurt you that bad did she?" I ask, concerned for his health.
"Y-yeah. I'm okay. Why didn't you tell us you had magic?" He asks. Oh. That's why he's just standing there.
"It's all in the name." I say with a small smile.
"But your name's Virgil. That doesn't really explain." Roman says. Do I have to spell it out for him?
"I believe he means the name Anxiety. So I would have to guess he means he was too anxious to tell us, and with something that big, he has a right to be." Logan says. Thank goodness that someone understands. "However, now that we know, I would like to see if I can do any research on the matter. You obviously aren't very trained, so I would like to help you. I will see if I have any books pertaining to this subject."
"I would like to help you train as well! You could join me in an epic adventure!" He says, and immediately small spires come from the ground. I force them back down, but not before they all notice them.
"Why did that happen kiddo?" Patton asks, and I'm forced to explain.
" I don't really know how or why, but I can heal, I can make spires rise from the ground, and I can create a force field. I've never had to use the attack magic, so that was new for me too. " I say, gaining wary looks from all three. "The spires usually appear when I feel angry or cornered, but I've learned how to control it when you guys were around." I mumble the last part, half hoping they won't hear me.
Roman immediately looks guilty, Logan looks intrigued, and Patton seems concerned.
"If you don't mind me asking, why did you choose to reveal your powers to us now?" Logan asks. Of course he would be curious.
"Well,... I didn't, not really. You see, the first time the Dragon Witch breathed fire, I created a force field by accident, only for a second though. It protected you from the fire mostly," I send Patton an apologetic look at this "but it was gone too quickly for you guys to notice since you were busy ducking. The Dragon Witch noticed though, and I knew she was going to do something to reveal it anyways, so this time I decided to consciously make a force field and spires, to protect you guys." I say, and look at the ground.
"Oh kiddo. We're sorry, we didn't mean to do that to you. You should've revealed them when you were ready." Patton says, looking guilty now.
"Yeah, well that probably would've been never. I'm just glad I don't have to hide it anymore. Though there is one thing..." I trail off, now unsure if I should reveal it.
"Yes? Do continue." Logan said.
"Well, these powers still work in the real world. I'd be invisible to everyone else, and so would the magic, but I would still be able to protect Thomas with a force field, or heal him. I've actually healed him before, he didn't even notice he was hurt in the first place." I say, and they're all shocked.
"When did you do that?" Roman asks, like I just revealed something epic to him.
"When Logan hit him with a laptop. It dislocated his shoulder, but I made sure the glow didn't appear. I can heal him from the mind palace, since we're all connected to him." I say, and now everyone was surprised.
"You mean, even when you ducked out, you were still protecting him?" Roman asks.
"Yeah. You were testing the fact that I was gone. I couldn't let him get hurt because of me again." I say, and now they all look guilty.
Before anyone can say anything, we're all being summoned, and we sink down to the real world.
Thomas looks surprised. "Okay, before I say anything else, why does Logan have a bow, Patton have a shield, Roman have his sword out, and why do you not have anything to protect yourself?" He asks, concerned.
"We were fighting a Dragon Witch at Roman's suggestion, and I had a shield but dropped it because I found a more... effective way to fight it." I say before anyone else can respond.
"And what might that way be?" Thomas asks, and I have to fight back the spires. Patton seems to notice.
"Maybe you should give him some time kiddo." He says to Thomas.
"Not your son. And why would you guys something from me?" Thomas asks, stepping forwards. Unfortunately, he doesn't realize that my shield actually did come, and he trips right over it, successfully creating a giant gash across his forearm and forehead.
I rush forwards and help him up, and once he's standing I put my hands on the cut and heal him, then move to his forehead and do the same thing.
"How-what-can-did-I don't- what?" Thomas asks.
"I'm going to pretend I understood a word you're saying and just be upfront about it. I have magical abilities, don't ask me how or why because I have no clue. I can heal, as you just saw, I can create purple/black spires, I can create a force field, and, I just learned today, I can attack with a fatal red glow that I have no idea what it actually does." I say, stepping back to my spot.
"Can you show me? I mean, obviously not the attack, but the other stuff?" He asks, and who am I to say no? He
I watch his surprised face as I create a force field around us, then make spires raise from the ground. I remain silent, looking at the ground and waiting for him to say something. When he doesn't, I have to push down the spires again, and keep myself from sinking down. Everyone is quiet. The spires almost make it up, but I don't let them.
"You okay kiddo?" Patton asks, breaking the silence, but I can't respond. The last thing I remember is the spires finally rising, as tall as the ceiling almost, before I black out.
