It was time to meet my work overseer. This was the first time I had talked to him... but, I was already hired, right...?

Oh well...

I headed to the prep room about a half and hour early to change into my uniform. The person I saw there was certainly... unusual by many standards.

I was met by a man with light, rosy hair. Despite this, he didn't look particularly old... he was maybe in his late twenties. His hair was somewhat long, perhaps around chin length, and his bangs were cut in an odd sort of way that overlapped his left eye. He didn't seem that concerned by my appearance as he sat in that swivel chair. In fact, he carried a nonchalant grin that I found quite unnerving at the time.

I gave a smile. "Um... hello! I'm Allison Petrie... and you are...?"

The man gave a nod, still smiling. His visible eye was a rich wine color. "My name is Kevin Regnard, and I'm the head of your division."

I stared at the man for a split second before laughing quietly.

The man frowned quite suddenly. "What is it...?"

"I'm sorry, you just remind me of a character from an anime..." I smiled back at the man awkwardly. "...it's sort of weird, I know..."

Mister Regnard grinned, however. "Ah, you've seen that? Miss Mochizuki based his character off of me. Very kind lady." The man started to spin in his swivel chair. "Unfortunately, I don't carry around 'Emilys'. I'm not that strange... the character sort of diverged due to her creative influence, and I can appreciate that." I blinked in shock.

Okay, this was just getting weird. It almost felt too coincidental... this had to add up somewhere, right...? I would do some research later, if I remembered.

Speaking of remembering...

"Um, excuse me, sir. I have a friend named Carter and she was wondering if help was wanted." Well, I had barely even met the man yet, and was already asking for another job position. So much for first impressions.

Kevin simply smiled. "...I think I can make room... but... you do owe me a favor in the future."

His tone was unnerving. "...I see... uh... well, I ought to get going." I suddenly felt very all to aware of how... easy this had been. "I'll... get going now."

Kevin laughed quietly. "...of course."
