-Carter's POV-
I glanced back at the countries, biting my lip. Oh lawd jeezus, plain old Carter Way was in a room with all these guys! I was already making a mental top seven list, too! Even though Evan is supposed to come crawling back to me soon (according to what I've heard) we already know that that isn't going to happen! A girl can dream, can't she?
"E-Excuse me, Miss." A heavily accented man waved me over. The first thing I noticed was that he was rather heavily dressed for mid-summer. He was wearing a trench coat, mind you!
I was deft in getting over there. I couldn't screw up on my first day now, could I? "Yes, sir?"
"Ah, yes." Russia coughed. "I am having the taste for human meat, yes? Could you maybe bring me some, from China's hand, maybe?"
I paled, a small, horrified grin growing on my face. "U-Um..."
-Allison's POV-
I didn't notice Carter leave with China as I was too busy listening to the meeting. The whole ordeal with the terrorists was far too disconcerting for me to ignore it.
England reached for his list of bullet points to cover. "So as you know, everyone here has been receiving threats and attacks from an unknown organization. Can everyone list the incidents for future reference? Miss Petrie, if you'd record them for me in detail... I want some backup information in case I miss anything with my own notes."
Every country listed two or three minor occurrences. Most of them were minor incidents that would not make the news, like a person bringing a gun into a research facility. I noticed that most countries, even America, all seemed incredibly invested. They put aside whatever spite they had.
And, well... I really respected that.
Once every nation finished, I decided that now was the time to say something. "Mister England, sir, may I say something?"
"Do make it quick," the man instructed.
I took a deep breath. "Well... when Carter and I were heading home yesterday, a vehicle took some shots at us for absolutely no reason. It looked like they were using a handgun, but... it seemed far too premeditated..."
England leaned forward, his voice darkening. "This may be much more serious than I had thought. Why hadn't you informed me of this earlier?"
"I'm sorry, sir. I passed out as soon as I got home and I haven't found the time." I winced a little. Ah, brilliant. Here was where I screwed up.
At that moment, Japan entered the room. The tense silence caused him to stop in the doorway. He cleared his throat awkwardly. "Sorry, I'm late," he muttered, continuing into the room. "I had business to tend to."
England sighed, his hand sliding over his forehead. "That's quite alright. Now... I was recording the incidents. May you, uh, list them for us?"
America finally stood up to speak. "Uh, dude, how come I don't get to-?"
"Because this meeting is one we need to take seriously and I plan on having this problem solved before anyone dies!" England shouted. "Everyone, listen up! Where the bloody hell is China?!"
~Carter's POV~
I walked into the kitchen, and groaned. "I don't know what to do, Mister China. Russia told me to cut off your hand and sauté it... and I obviously can't do that, but I know if I don't, he'll probably murder me in my sleep or something.
China tensed up. "I won't let you do that!"
I shook my head quickly. "No! I'm not doing that... we just need to come up with a plan."
China rolled his eyes. "Why should I care what happens to you?"
My voice was tinged with irritation. "Because he'll murder both of us!" I was a little pissed off that he wasn't concerned for my very imminent death. "There has to be something that he'd rather have then human meat, right? Has he, erm, ever expressed interest in cannibalism?"
"No, I don't think so." China crossed his arms. "...but he is Russia."
I flung open the refrigerator. "Come on... come oooon!"
China was starting to look scared himself. "C-Calm down! If.... if he wants food, he will get food!" The long haired male grabbed several ingredients and slammed them heavily down onto the counter.
In about twenty minutes, we had our "hand". We had tried to do our best to replicate human meat, but... Wikipedia didn't really have a good source on how that tasted, so we just made a beef dish instead.
I turned to China. "Pull up your left arm into your sleeve, got it?"
China gave an angry sigh. "It's already not in eye view. I'm wearing longer sleeves today."
"I-If you're sure." I grimaced and took the tray awkwardly into the room, attracting a few odd looks from the countries. I set the tray in front of Russia. He tilted his head.
"Aha, you do realize that I was only joking, yes?"
I froze. "Y-Yes... it's not actual hand, don't... don't worry about that."
I returned to my post, only to be confronted by China. "Thanks," he said quickly. Without waiting for a reply, he turned and walked away.
Allison started to shoot me a weird look. She mouthed the words "What happened?
I shook my head and responded with a silent "Nothing." I'd tell her later while she caught me up.
