-Allison's POV-
I sat down between England and Japan. "What should I get? I, uh, don't want to get too hammered-"
The blond shrugged. "I'm ordering Scotch... maybe two. I'm not sure."
I shrugged a little, the heavy smell of liquor wafting over the dark wooded counter. The bar was dimly lit, with some fuzzy swing music playing in the background. I didn't relax, however. "I might get a small martini or something..."
I sighed deeply and turned to Japan. "Kiku, I hope we aren't being a burden... you can leave if you want. I can get Carter to-" Japan looked like he had something to say, but he was trying not to interrupt, so I shut up.
"No, it is a preasure. I need to get out, anyway, despite how... odd American lifestyle may be."
I laughed, nodding. "Yes, but... let's admit, squid ink ice cream hasn't been your countries most popular output, hmm?" I set my chin on my palm.
Japan smiled nervously. "Ah, true."
Then, the bar tender came over. Oh boy...
---
I laid my head down on the table. "Who... spiked this?" I mumbled, starting to get a headache. The bartender must have screwed up somehow, or I ordered the wrong thing or... something. No, I wasn't stupidly drunk, but my brain hurt like hell.
Great.
I put my glass down. I couldn't take this anymore. "Japan, if I die from alcohol poisoning, sue these people... Miles Edgeworth style."
England, on the otherhand was arguing with himself... or perhaps, someone who wasn't there. "Nuh uh... no, you are the git!" He drunkenly pounded a single fist onto the table.
Japan shook my shoulder. "Allison, are you alright? Should we leave now?" He glanced at England nervously.
I glanced to the blond on my left. "Is he always like this?" I asked, keeping my voice lower as to not make my headache any worse.
"From what Alfred tells me, yes."
I nodded and sighed. "Okay, lets get him moving."
I heard what sounded like a rage amount of people shuffle through the door. My eyes locked onto one of the guys in the back and suddenly shrunk away.
...Darren.
-Kiku's POV-
I heard heavy footsteps and looked up, my eyes landing on a cocky looking American. He focused on Allison, giving a tight little smirk. "What do we have here? Is that you, Allison Petrie?" He laughed uncomfortably loudly. "What are you doing here?"
Allison flinched, her eyes falling on the counter and remaining there. "...Go away," she ordered, her voice low and firm. Regardless, she couldn't help but look a bit too demure for her own good. The man took advantage and firmly out his hand on her shoulder. She flinched, her head snapping up. At this point, my hand began to reach to where I'd normally keep my katana.
Allison narrowed her eyes, gaining some confidence. "Darren, I haven't magically forgotten your bullshit. I want you to leave me alone."
But the man just grinned. I looked over at Arthur. He was completely out of it, babbling like a lunatic. If this escalated...
The man smirked. "I'm surprised you're drinking, after-"
Allison's hand immediately flew to the wrist that was on his shoulder. the woman wrenched it off of her. "You son of a bitch. I can do whatever the hell I want and your stupidity in the past has nothing to do with it. You came so close to being fucking arrested and I could still threaten you with charges, so don't you dare fucking threaten me and taunt me! So for the last time, leave me alone!" She turned away from the shocked looking man, her voice getting weaker. "Please, let's go now... Mr. Japan."
I nodded and quickly lifted up the groaning Arthur. Allison quickly grabbed his other side and helped the blond to the car.
Allison slipped into the front seat and I into the driver's seat. "...if I may ask, who was that?"
The brunette just shook her head. Well... whoever it was, she clearly didn't want to talk about it. Best change the subject.
"Allison, where is Kevin's house?" I asked, watching the road.
"It's down the boulevard of broken dreams," Arthur called from the back.
Allison shifted in her seat uncomfortably. "Uh... four miles down this road, I believe." The car continued to drive down the dark road. It was already fairly late. I was still most certainly getting off of my jet lag still.
We arrived within in a few minutes. The house was certainly unusual in style; it was a large, gothic looking red brick house. Dark vines were curling up the north wall, almost reaching the upstairs window. The shutters were painted black and the yard was guarded by an elegant, black iron fence.
I turned to the American girl in the front seat. "Allison, do you need me to help yo-"Giving a forced smile, the brunette shook her head quickly. "No, thank you... I'll be fine. Goodnight, Kiku." She got out and shut the door.
Kiku...
...how unprofessional.
