*Simon's POV*

"Do we have to?" I plead to Baz. He sighs and turns to look at me. "Simon, Penny and Micah are going swimming and asked us to come. I know for a fact that you want to spend time with Micah while he is here. Now go get your swim trunks and change. We have to leave in in twenty minutes." He states while going to change himself. I plop down on the bed and dig deeply. "Baz?" I call out. I hear rummaging coming from the closet and see Baz walk out in his dark blue swim trunks. My eyes go wide as I look at him. The darkness of the trunks make his pale skin look even whiter. I look up at his bare chest, no hair anywhere, his six pack abs, then glance up at his gorgeous face. I stand up and walk toward him with lust filled eyes. "No, Simon. Go get dressed! No not right now!" Baz screams at me when I grab his neck to pull him into a kiss. As soon as our lips meet, Baz relaxes and unconsciously wraps his arms around my waist. I leave one hand on Baz's neck, just in case he tries to pull away, and trail my other hand over his rock hard stomach. He hums happily as I rub patterns on his abs. "Don't think for a second that you can kiss your way out of going to the pool." He grumbles as we part to breathe. I smirk mischievously. I will prove him wrong. I lean in to kiss him again, but he takes me by surprise and drops out of my arms. "Simon, we have to go. I already told Bunce that we would meet her there. Go get changed you I will make you get dressed. I don't think you'll like how I do it either." He says menacingly. "Come on, Basil. I don't wanna go! Can't we just stay here and cuddle?" I ask with a pout. He shakes his and and starts pull something from the bag he packed with stuff to take to the pool. He turns around an I see his wand in his hand, "Now, I told you that if you didn't get into your trunks yourself, I would take matters into my own hands. However, I will try my bloody hardest to not turn today into a bad day, so you have one more chance. Go get dressed or I will spell you." He glares and waves his wand to make his point clear. "O-Okay." I say while I run to the dresser to grab my trunks. I love Baz, but he can be extremely scary when he gets irritated. After pulling on my trunks as fast as humanly possible, I grab the bag and run towards the car before Baz can threaten me to do something else. "I see you made the right choice." He says sweetly as he gets in the drivers seat and takes my hand. "Twit." I mutter under my breath. "I heard that." Baz says with a squeeze of my hand. 'Oh yeah.' I think, 'He is a vampire with super hearing.' Somehow I always manage to forget that when I try to insult him behind his back. I try to turn up the volume on the radio, but Baz doesn't let me. "Simon, why didn't you want to come?" He asks concerned. Oh no. I don't want to tell him. I mean, it's not like a huge. secret, and I tell Baz everything else, but this one is embarrassing. "Uh, n-no reason." I stutter as I look out the window to avoid making eye contact with Baz. I feel my face burning and act like Baz doesn't notice, even though he does. He always does. "Simon, come on just tell me. It can't be worse than all the other things you have done. What happened? Bad memories? Accident?" His hand leaves mine and lands on my thigh, rubbing comforting circles. I sigh and decide that I might as well tell him. "I-I can't swim." I admit quietly. I look back at him to see what he thinks, but I can tell he is trying to old back laughter. "You can't swim?" He says bursting into giggles. "Don't laugh at me." I tell him. "The great Simon Snow can't swim! You can defeat the biggest threat to all of magic, but you can't paddle through the water? Seriously, Snow? Wow." He says after he is calmed down. "Well I didn't exactly have a place to practice, Basil!" As soon as the words leave my mouth, Baz tenses up. He hates that I grew up in foster homes, and that he grew up living in a house that had so much money that there were multiple rooms for it. "Oh...I'm sorry, Simon." He says crestfallen. "It's not you fault, Baz. It's just the way it is. You guys were able to go swimming, I wasn't." I try to say reassuringly. It doesn't work, "I am still sorry. I shouldn't have made fun of you when you said you can't swim. I should've known why. I'm sorry." I take his hand in mine and kiss his palm. He smiles shyly, making it worth it. (He still doesn't smile, so when I make him it's like I did something wonderful.) "I am going to teach you." He says determined. "Baz, you don't have to. I-I'll just sit and watch. It's fine." I try to act like I'm not actually terrified to try and swim. I tried once, when I had to stay at Watford during break, and I haven't been able to try again since. "No it's fine, Simon. I'll teach you. You should have to sit out while we get to swim. I rather be with you than Bunce and Micah. Even if it is teaching you how to swim." He says. "No, Baz. It's okay. You shouldn't spend your day off from work trying to teach me something." He looks over at me and smiles. He should really do that more often, he looks amazing when he does.  (Not that he doesn't look amazing not smiling. He looks gorgeous no matter what he is doing.) "There is nobody I'd rather spend my day off with." He says simply and honestly. I turn away again to hide the bright blush covering my face. "Baz?" I say after a few moments of silence. "Love?" He answers back. Merlin and Morgana, every time he calls me that I want to grab his handsome face and kiss him with all I have. However, he is driving and if I did that we would get in a wreck. Guess it will have to wait till later. "It's just that, umm, I-I am, well, kinda s-scared." I confess. His eyes fill with concern, "Why?" Is all he asks. "Well, I tried swimming once."  He waits for me to continue, and when I don't he nudges my arm. "Can you elaborate?" Well here goes nothing. "One time I had to stay at Watford for break because the-the Mage couldn't find a home. A-and it got really warm one day, so I went to the schools pool. I had seen the swim team practice before, s-so I tried copying them. I jumped in and, umm, well, I almost drowned. I was all alone since it was break and I didn't know what to do, so I kinda didn't do anything. I-I just stopped moving and sank to the bottom. I couldn't breathe and finally the M-Mage came in to check on me and pulled me out. I haven't tried again." I glance at Baz and his expression is unreadable. "Simon, in going to be honest, you are an idiot. You wenr swimming, when you didn't know how, and when no one was there to help?! That was unbelievingly stupid of you. And although you are a thick prat, I still love you. And I'm going to help you learn to swim. Today. I will be there with you, okay? Don't be scared. Trust me, it's not as hard as I will make it look." He says change of the mood. I laugh along with him and lean my head on his shoulder. "Okay. I trust you." I say.
