Chapter 9: Blooming Nefarious Plans

Only a few minutes later there's a knock on the door. I answer it guard up just incase but, it's just Kim.

"I got the pizza!" Kim cheers holding seven boxes of pizza in her hands.
"Your my favorite" I squeal grabbing several boxes
"Hey save some for me!" says Kim trying to look hurt but, failing when we both start laughing.

"You got an obscene amount of food, SEVEN pizzas!" exclaims Vic
"One is for your aunt because she probably won't get food and the rest is for Henry the Hoover over here" says Kim pointing at me.
"So true, to both statements" I say taking the pizza and knocking on her lab door.

I leave the steaming hot pizza on the desk.

"Cheese pizza... your the best niece" Al says smelling the pizza.
"I'm your only niece!" I say
"I'm sorry about earlier" Al says softly
"No, I am sorry and we'll talk tomorrow ok? Eat up and get good nights sleep" I say giving her a hug.
"Alright, I'm tired anyways" Al says tiredly
"It's been a crazy couple of days" I say
"Eat and sleep ok? I continue giving her a lecturing look she had used on me many times.

She nods and smiles. I close the lab door knowing how much she hates when it's open. I go to the kitchen and pour a generous glass of whiskey.

"Take it easy on the drink. I know it's been a rough couple of days" Vic says somehow sneaking up behind me.
"I will. I just need one after today" I say tiredly.
"I've the pizza and a movie set up, you both down?" Kim asks.
"Yeah sure" I say gulping down last of the whiskey.

We all plop down on the couch and turn on the movie. I end up polishing 4 out of the 6 pizzas Vic and Kim have a look of horror on their faces.
"How do you eat all of that and still look healthy?" says Vic
"I train everyday and my powers use up a lot of energy" I explain my mouth full of pizza
"Lucky for some" mutters Kim
"Awh you jealous of my insane appetite?" I say grinning
"Don't know how you aren't puking right now! Energy needed or not" says Kim

The emotions of the day make me realize how tired I am and before I know it I've fell asleep happy and content for the first time in awhile.

Meanwhile in a off-grid lab in California
"Any progress on finding the rock? Dr Adamson asks
"We've narrowed down possible locations but a definitive answer remains not clear" says an unknown man
"I need the location now! I need this rock now! Not later, NOW" shouts Dr Adamson clearly angry
"We'll find it sir" says the unknown man tapping on his tablet and walking out to carry out his orders.

Dr Adamson lights a cigarette and takes a puff his nerves beginning to calm. He already let the element of surprise get swiped away. He needs this rock, to have a chance of defeating her. He flips though the file but, he has little to no information on Kelly.

"You may be winning now Agent Flint, but, I will get her" says Adamson to himself.

Back at "Lorino" residence
Allie's POV

"Hello Allie" Kim and Vicki say before continuing ".. Feels weird calling you that"

I laugh aloud before Kim and Vicki point to a sleeping Kelly.

"Ah, let me take her" I say smiling at her features softened by sleep.

I lift Kelly up easily and brings her up to her room. Kelly latches onto me like a Koala and grumbles about being moved. I tuck Kelly in and presses a kiss to her forehead.

"Goodnight, sweet dreams" I say moving hair from her eyes.
"Gnight" mumbles Kelly before instantly falling back asleep

I shut the door quietly and heads downstairs to Kelly's friends.

"Can we talk?" I say to both of them
They look around nervously before I add
"Don't worry nothing bad"
"Yeah sure" they both say

They take a seat at stools near the kitchen counter.

"You both know the whole truth about Kelly. I understand you care for her and don't be angry at her keeping the truth. It was for your safety and I told Kelly not to tell" I say tone serious and calm.

"I understand, this doesn't change the fact Kelly is our friend and we would protect her no matter what" Vicki says
"We've been friends for 14 years, that isn't going to change" Kim says
"Good, Kelly will have to face this enemy and she needs people on her side. I fear for her life each and every day and the events of the past couple of days has only made it worse" I say seriously
"We'll be by her side to help with whatever she needs. Although I don't feel as if I will be much help" Vicki says
"You have helped her so much already, she needs people who she can rely on if I were to go" I say before silence envelopes the room.

I pause and take a moment before asking "How would you feel about learning some moves so you can defend yourselves?"
"Well, I took karate so I know some already but, I'd really like to learn" says Kim excitedly
"I took a few boxing lessons but, same as Kim I would really like to learn"
"Great, we can start some moves tomorrow morning. By the way your allowed to stay until this is resolved. I'd feel better knowing I'm close by in case of another attack" I say grinning wickedly at the thought training them.

They really haven't a clue.

"Oh and also we're taking a little drive to Glassrock in Arizona tomorrow if that's ok?" I say sounding more like an order luckily they don't notice.
"Always wanted to see Arizona!" Kim says excitedly

Vicki and Kim smile widely before taking their leave to go to sleep.
"Training 6am, I won't go easy, you can ask Kelly" I say remembering Kelly groaning after training for first few months
I hear their groans before they disappear for the night.

I pick up her phone and phone an old friend.

"I need information on a Arthur Adamson" I say my tone firm and agent like.
"Send it to me as quickly as possible" I say before hanging up.
