Chapter 25: History Repeats

Kelly's POV

Al takes a few steps inside. Her maimed arm is still dripping with some blood, I can see she's in a lot of pain right now despite her calm face.

"Stay right there" Robin says pointing the gun at Al I take the opportunity to shoot him in the foot

He howls in pain and stares daggers at me. Mhm I feel warm and fuzzy inside, so satisfying to finally to do that.

"I see Flint is still in top shape minus the missing arm" he says smirking at Al looking confident despite being shot in the foot moments before
"Who are your friends?" he asks gesturing towards Kim and Vicki
"Does it matter?" I ask annoyed
"No, they'll be dealt with" Robin says sitting down
"You'll be dead before I let that happen" I say coldly
"Robin.. it's not good to see you" Al spits out
"I can't say the same. It's been far too long old friend!" Robin says with mock excitement
"Why get the Ferrerium?" I ask staring him straight in the eye
"I suppose what's the harm in telling you" Robin says before adding
"I got it to kill you"
"Hilarious but, I have super healing" I snort
"If I remember correctly me and your father were the people who enhanced your DNA" Robin says smirking while I wait for him to continue
"I also visited the site where your father died" he says and Al looks surprised and a bit confused
"Didn't know that did you Flint?" he spits at Al
"I was devastated. My revenge was gone down the drain... Until I found a long piece of blonde hair... I remembered about Kelly" he says looking back at me with a smile
"Where would young Kelly go after her family died? Her aunt of course!" he says laughing
"How did you find us?" Al asks
"You know I searched for ages, using all kinds of algorithms.. I commend you. You hid well, but finally the algorithm found you..." he explains laughing while Al just looks even more angry
"If I ever get my hands on you!" Al growls
"Hand......maybe" Robin says grinning at Al and gestures to her stump where her right arm use to be
"Flint, I doubt you could do much now" Robin in a bored tone

Robin shifts in his chair looking at me with insanity in his eyes. Meanwhile Al stands in the corner looking pale with sweat on her face. She looks angry and determined. I need to get her to safety quickly. She's gonna pass out from blood loss any moment now.

Kim and Vicki are still standing at the door not daring to move. Kim looks disgusted by Robin while Vicki looks at me with a scared look in her brown eyes.

I feel scared for them. They are possibly gonna get hurt because of me.

"Now enough with you questioning me I've a question for you" Robin says rising from his chair
"Where's the little girl I knew?" Robin says now smirking at me
"That little girl died in the lab explosion. I was born in the flames" I say smiling back
"Well isn't this a cosy reunion" Robin says
"So why do this?" I ask
"Love. One word that can destroy just as easily as it can hope. You will live like I did, loosing your entire family knowing it's your fault. You will hate yourself for it and more importantly it will destroy you" Robin says laughing
"James ruined my life, it's time I ruined yours" he says looking at Al
"Let me guess this place is more rigged than the 2018 election" I say laughing
"Indeed" Robin says smiling and he takes out his loaded pistol and shoots at Al

I slow down time and see the light blue glowing bullet fire from the gun. Ferrerium.... I run quickly putting myself in front of the bullet and finally my endurance gives out and time speeds up to normal. Oh Robin make a MINOR miscalculation. I play my part and stay on the floor.

"KELLY!" Vic screams as she sees the bullet pierce my heart. She runs up beside me shaking me and Robin just smirks.

The bullet wound heals up despite the Ferrerium having pierced my heart. I feel much stronger than I have ever before. Oh Robin I wonder did Robin know that this strengthens me, not weakens. That is his mistake. The MINOR miscalculation... Not so minor...

I slow down time once again the take Al outside careful to not hurt her maimed arm. She just lost her arm because of me. Fuck. I walk back inside resuming my spot and speed back up time. This'll be good.

Robin looks confused and afraid. When he sees me stand up I see fear in his eyes.

"No..." he says looking at me with a disbelieving look on his face
"Oh.. but yes" I say looking at him my eyes turning golden.
"What are you?" Robin says with a shock and fear across his face
"What you made me to be. After all... You were the one who changed my DNA" I say walking towards him

Instead Robin presses the detonation button with a maniac smirk on his face and I hear the lab explode. Oh no Kim... Vicki...

I look towards Kim and Vicki who are frozen in shock and I scream their names. I try to slow down time but, the explosion is quicker...

Similiar flames to 14 years ago engulf me and my vision fades to black once again.
