I never thought that I would fall in love, let alone with a fish or I should say siren who was technically a fish but also half mermaid and siren anyway I'm probably confusing you so I should probably start from the beginning on how I even met a mermaid siren human fish creature.

It all started on my 15th birthday, my mom decided that instead of me going to school I would be watching her work

It all started on my 15th birthday, my mom decided that instead of me going to school I would be watching her work. I mean how boring would that be? Although I couldn't exactly miss my chance to skip school and besides my mom was a scientist so how boring could that be?

"Aria, are you almost ready?"

"Yes mom, just give me a minute!"

Tugging on my black leather knee high boots I check my reflection one last time to make sure that my dark brown hair isn't a complete mess before grabbing black leather jacket. If you haven't noticed by now I love the color black, I'm not gothic or anything like that I just like the way it makes my gray eyes pop.

Rushing back downstairs I grab a piece of toast before rushing towards my moms car.

"Just a piece of toast Aria? It's going to be a while before we have lunch"

"I'm fine mom, besides I don't eat that much you know that."

"I suppose, just don't come whining to me when you start to get hungry."

I roll my eyes in annoyance before I turn up the radio making me smile as "I Kissed A Girl" by Katy Perry came on, I honestly loved Katey Perry she was the best. The song however was short lived as my mom turned it off with a scowl on her face making me frown.

"Honestly, that women should be banned from singing."

"Why, Because she kissed a girl and liked it? That seems a bit homophobic if you ask me."

"You're not actually accepting the LGBT community are you?"

"No! It's just that..."

Honestly I didn't know what to tell her, I mean I wasn't a complete racists like her or anything I just wish everybody could just get along.

"Just what?"

"Nothing."

My mother squints her hazel eyes at me before looking back at the road. Why can't everybody just get along? 45 minuets pass by quickly as we pull into a large white building.

"Where here."

"This is where you work? It's huge, how do you even know where you're going?"

"Easy, you just follow the colored arrows to get to you're destination. But enough about that I have a few rules that you need to follow before we go in." Of course you do. I think to myself as I look up at the large mysterious building, to be honest this will be my first time entering my moms work.
