Thaleia

As I swam up towards the raft with my mom I begin to feel more excited do to my mom meeting my mate. However as I saw Aria still unconscious and covered in sweat I begin to feel a bit worried for her as I removed the blanket only to expose a small baby sucking on Aria's nipple making me a bit jealous. But I was happy either way, Aria finally gave birth to our child the down fall to all of this was that I missed it. I told Aria I would be here for her when she gave birth and I wasn't.

Climbing into the raft I gently remove our daughter away from Aria making her let out a small whimper as I tried to adjust her in my arms which is when I noticed the umbilical cord was still attached to her making frown a bit.

"Has your mother taught you nothing while I was away? Your holding your daughter all wrong and your supposed to eat the umbilical cord."

"I know that it's just that Aria's a human, doesn't she need that?"

"No, She will grow another one."

My mom hands me a small knife before showing me how to properly hold my child. Taking a deep breath I cut Aria's umbilical cord before eating it.

It was actually really good much to my surprise but it still doesn't beat fish.

"So this is your mate?"

"Yes, she is mine and I will protect her."

"What about the pod? The pod might not allow this human girl to live on Mako, even if she is your mate someone will complain about it."

"I'll cross that reef when we get there, but for now my purpose is to protect my family. The pod is just going to have to come second."

"Your the future queen Thaleia, the pod always comes first."

Shaking my head at my mother I couldn't help but have my doubts about taking Aria to Mako.

The council isn't really what I'm worried about, it's my sister Aqua she always seems to want what I have. She even tried killing me at one point after mom told us which one was taking the throne the next blue moon.

The blue moon comes every ten years to exceed the queens power or in this case transfer. My mom is transferring her power to me to which Aqua was not pleased about, she said it was unfair and that mom never really gave her any credit for what she has done for the pod. Whatever that means, all I know is that I have to somehow keep Aqua away from her.

As I thought more and more I begin to feel pain inside my chest making me a bit worried as I watched my green skin start to turn a light tan color making my frown deepen as I looked towards my mother in deep confusion.

"you have grown soft Thaleia, and it's all thanks to your human mate so your mermaid side is taking over your siren side. Sooner or later you will look like me, a plain mermaid."

"No, it has to be something els something inside me doesn't feel right."

"Maybe... no forget it it's to risky."

"What? Tell me."

My mom sighed heavily before speaking.

"I was going to suggest to ask king trident what maybe happening to you but that would make you have to leave both your child and your mate behind."

"But if I go to King Trident maybe he will give me something that could help me and change Aria into a mermaid."

"You want your mate to become a mermaid?"

I nodded my head as I look at Aria's sleeping form.

"She's afraid of the sea, I'm hoping that if she turns into a mermaid the council might accept her and my family and I would be able to live happily in the sea. It's wishful thinking I know but I at least have to try right?"

My mom shrugged as she gave me a doubtful look before looking at Aria once again.

"I have never heard of a human becoming a mermaid but it might just be possible."

Looking out into the see I begin to remember feeling a similar pain in my chest when Aria's mom started to drain my blood, I'm almost certain she has something to do with my siren side disappearing but I won't know until I go see King Trident.

Hopefully he will be able to give me some answers.
