Aria

I woke up feeling a sharp pain in my lower stomach making me wince as I slowly took a drink of water. Mom told me I might feel contractions throughout my pregnancy given on how fast the baby is growing. Looking around the raft I noticed Thaleia was gone making me frown as I sit up straighter so I could look out into the sea to see if I could see her. Unfortunately I couldn't, where could she have gone to? Maybe she just went for a quick swim?

I whimper as I feel another sharp pain but this time it was a lot worse then the first one.

Ok Aria deep breaths in out, In out. I stopped talking to myself as I felt a strange liquid form in between my legs making my face grow pale. My water just broke, Thaleia is no where in sight and I honestly don't know what to do. Thaleia was supposed to be here to help me through this! Calm down Aria, remember deep breaths.

Taking deep breaths I take of my shorts along with my underwear as I get into the push position. I swear if Thaleia doesn't show up soon I'll kill her!

Alright Aria what's the number one thing you learned in child development?

1: Take deep breaths
2: make sure you have a wet rag
3: a clean towel

And above all stay calm

Taking another deep breath I try to recall more birth tips I learned in my child development class.

Come on Aria think, when is the best time to start pushing?

If the contractions are at least 45-90 seconds apart then it's time to push if not then I'll have to wait.

1 Mississippi, 2 Mississippi, 3 Mississippi, 4 Mississippi...

"FUCKING HELL!" I practically scream as I once again feel another contraction. Ok so it's definitely time to push but what on earth do I do when pushing?

Come on Aria think...

Flashback

"Ok class today we will be learning on what to do and what not to do during labor. Can anybody tell me the top five positions you have to do before you push?

Rolling my eyes in class I lay my head down on my book before slowly drifting off to sleep.

"Yes Sophie."

Step 1: tuck your chin to your chest...
Step 2: stay focused...
Step 3: rest between contractions and pushes...
Step 4....

End of flashback

God damn it! I completely forgot that I fell asleep through most of that lecture but at least I remembered some of it do to Sophie's annoying voice echoing inside my head.

Taking a deep breath I tuck my chin to my chest and begin to push only resting every five seconds before spin it all over again. The pain was unbearable, I actually thought that I was going to die after giving birth but thankfully after three long tiring pushes I begin to hear a small cry making me smile weakly as I very shakily lifted my child into my arms.

Well, Thaleia was right about our child being a girl. I guess I owe her an apology for not believing her.

I was happy that my baby girl looked human which to be honest was very confusing for me, I actually expected her to have a green fishtail like Thaleia's but as I look into her light blue green eyes I knew that she would grow up looking more human then siren. I was a bit happy that she had hair even though it was a dark Maroon color it still looked good on her. The brown tint to her Maroon hair actually made it look pretty cool.

Before I closed my eyes out of exhaustion I made sure my baby girl was drinking her milk ok from my breast. As soon as I made sure everything was ok I wrapped my blanket around both of us making sure my baby girl was protected from the sun.

I swear to god though if and when I see Thaleia again I will kill her for leaving me to do this by myself after she promised me that she would help me through this pregnancy but for now I'm tired.

Really, really tired...
