"Who's the new kid?" The oldest Layla asked.

"Ava. 11. Moved from England yesterday." I replied.

"Okay. Just don't get in my way."

"I'm way too quiet. It'll be like I'm not even here."

"Cool. Anyway I was told to show you the ropes. This is your bunk. You share with Taylor, Julia and I. I'll introduce you to Kayla. She's your age. Don't touch any of our stuff. After 12 stay quiet or Miss Jackson will be annoyed and punish you."

"Thanks." I sat on my bunk and got my headphones out.

"If you need anything just ask."

"Thank you."

Three years later
I grabbed my skateboard and skated with Kayla to school. We left earlier and took the more scenic route. "After school lets go to the park. I wanna see the cute dogs. I'll ask Jake to bring Avenger." Kayla suggested.

"He kept the name? How cute." I commented.

"I'll text him." She texted him then we went into school. I dropped off my bass guitar and went to homeroom.

I sat through 4 hours of lessons then I had lunch which I spend in one of the music rooms. I went to the room I left my bass in and sat at the piano. I played a song I just learned, Dying in La by Panic! at the disco and sang too. "Every face along the boulevard is a dreamed just like you. You looked at death in a tarot card and you saw what you had to do."

"But nobody knows you know, when you're dying in LA. And nobody owes you now, when you're dying in LA. When you're dying in LA, when you're dying in LA. The power, the power, the power. Oh, the power, the power, the power. Of LA." There was a knock on the door so I opened it. It was Zoey my best friend and Jake's little sister. She had bought McDonald's and got me chicken nuggets and a milkshake.

"I heard singing and knew it was you." She explained. "That was so good."

"Thanks. Just learned it." I replied.

"Nuggets and a milkshake like always."

"You're the best."

"Thanks."

We messed around for a while and the bell rang. I went to last lesson which was chemistry. I sat in my normal seat and realised that Jack, my normal desk partner wasn't here. I turned around to Jack's best friend Leo.

"Hey Leo. Where's Jack?" I asked.

"Didn't he tell you? He moved to New York." Leo replied.

"Nope. Thanks." I got my books out and waited for the lesson to start.

"Since Jack has moved. Leo why don't you move next to Ava and then you can be lab partners." Mr Smith suggested.

"Sure." Leo said grabbing his stuff and moving next to me.

"Cool." I added. I put one of my earphones in and copied the notes off of the board.

"Hey can I borrow a pen?" I handed him mine and got another out my pencil case. "Thanks."

After school
I walked out the gates and waited for Kayla. She walked out and we went straight to the park. I called Jake on Kayla's phone and he picked up straight away. "Hey. Where are you?" I asked.

"Not far. Avenger's just stopped randomly. Oh okay he's moving again. Nevermind." He replied. "We're here." Avenger ran up and jumped up my leg.

"Hello. Hey avenger. Hello, hello." I said in my baby voice. Jake ran up and hugged Kayla.

"Here." He handed me Avengers toy. "I'm going to find Brad and James."

"Okay." Kayla replied. "Give me the poop bags." He handed them to her and I ran off with Avenger.

"Avenger sit." He sat and I threw the toy. "Go get it." He went to get it but ran past it and to another dog that looked oddly familiar. "Avenger!" The dogs started wrestling so I ran over picking the toy up on the way. "Avenger no! Avenger get off." The owner of the other dog came over and picked up the Jack Russel terrier. "I'm so sorry about that. He's not normally li- Brendon Urie?" I asked.

"I didn't think anyone would recognise me with this hat and the sunglasses." He replied.

"The forehead gave it away."

"I knew it. Avenger? I know this dog. I played with him during the puppy interview."

"He's my friend Jake's dog."

"Hello angel." I put Avenger down and he ran to Brendon. "Hello. I haven't seen you in a while."

"You can pick him up if you want. Where's Penny?"

"She's with Zack. She hurt her paw at the park a few weeks ago and can't come out for another week. I feel bad taking just Bogart but Zack spoils her with cuddles."

"I'm just imagining Zack cuddling with Penny and it's adorable."

"Hey Ava. Kayla was looking fo- Brendon Urie?" Jake asked. Kayla ran up and looked shocked.

"Ava. How are you calm? He's your idol and you're more calm than me." Kayla pointed out.

"Kayla. I'm dying on the inside." I replied.

"She was singing your song earlier and it was amazing." Jake complimented.

"Wait you heard that?" I asked.

"Me and Zoey were stood outside for a few minutes before she went in."

"Wow. Stalker much."

"Nevermind his stalker-ness Ava we gotta go. Miss Jackson is gonna kill us if we're not home soon." Kayla mentioned.

"Miss Jackson?" Brendon asked.

"Our foster mother. She's a bitch but we have to live with her."

"Oh. Well. Do you want a ride or something? It'll be nothing."

"Please. If it's not a hassle." I replied.

"I'm gonna walk. I literally live right there. So. I'll see you two on Monday. Bye Brendon." Jake added. He kissed Kayla goodbye then put Avengers leash on and walked home.

"Okay girls. Come on." Brendon said walking to his car.

"I'm about to get a car ride from Beebo. I'm dying." Kayla whispered to me.

"I am too." I replied quietly. We followed him and got in.

"So. Can one of you give directions?" Brendon asked.

"So it's left here. The third right and then two lefts and then you're there." Kayla directed.

"Thanks. So this right?"

"Yeah."

"This left?"

"Next one."

"Okay. Then that road?"

"Yeah." He pulled into the road and Kayla pointed to the house. "That house there. Thanks Brendon."

"No problem."

"Thank you." I added.

"You're welcome." Brendon replied. We got out the car and waved goodbye. We got in and I got dragged by Miss Jackson into her office.

"I told you to get back by 6. It's 6:45. Your late." She brought her hand to my cheek and it's staring stinging straight away. "Now get out of my sight." I ran upstairs and into my room, going straight to sleep
