The Time People Actually Cared

I woke up in the other room surrounded and terrified. I sat up and my head hurt so muc h. "Hey princess. You okay?" Brendon asked sitting next to me.

"I think so. My head hurts so bad." I muttered.

"Do you want anything?" Jack asked as him, Harley and Kayla walked over.

"Can I just have some water please?"

"Yeah here." He handed me some water and I sipped it slowly.

"Hey guys." Miles said walking into the room. "Ava. Are you okay?" He walked over and squatted down in front of me. I nodded and he hugged me. I guess I still like Miles. That's new. I feel bad for liking more than one person but I'm single so it was fine.

"Thanks Miles." I added. He sat next to me and Harley on the other side with Zoe, being the clingy shit she is, on his lap. Miles held my hand and I lay my head on his shoulder. Maybe I didn't need all these other people I thought I liked. Maybe I just needed one.

"Hey Ava. Wanna go back?" She said.

"Sure." We went back up to the roof and sat down.

"So. You like Miles?"

"I like more than one person so I feel like a whore."

"You're not a whore."

"But I feel like one."

"Hey you guys okay?" Jack and Miles asked coming over to us. I nodded and put my head on Kayla's shoulder staring at the view. I felt so stressed and I hate it. She noticed my breath hitch and jolted up.

"6 in, hold 7, out 8." She whispered. I did what she said and it was working a bit but not enough. "Is it helping?" I shook my head and she helped me stand up. The guys were still there and noticed what was going on.

"Woah woah woah. It's okay. You'll be okay." Miles said hugging me. I hugged him back and sobbed into his chest. "Hey. What's up?"

"I don't know anymore. I'm so stressed." I replied.

"What's on your mind?"

"Everything's happening at once, I have no idea what to do, I can't seem to calm down, and I feel like I'm gonna puke."

"It's okay I'm here."

"Thanks Miles."

"It's no problem."

"We'll leave you two alone for a minute." Kayla added. "Come on Jack." She dragged him downstairs and he gave me a thumbs up while Miles wasn't looking.

I gripped on tighter and he noticed. "Hey. What's wrong?" He asked.

"I feel so alone. Like I'm a 5th wheel." I explained. "I guess I'm just lonely."

"Maybe I can fix that?" I pulled away and looked up at them. He pulled away and started getting sheepish and nervous. "Would you- Um... I don't know. Wanna go on a date with me?"

"Yes! I mean. Um. I'd love to." He laughed and hugged me.

"Okay."

"There's a cute cafe not far from here if you wanna go now?"

"Sure let's go." We went back downstairs and I grabbed my coat.

"Where you going?" Brendon asked.

"Were going to the cafe down the road." I replied.

"We were gonna go to Nando's. Do you wanna come with us?"

"Um. No thanks."

"Okay. Have a nice lunch." We left and walked to the cafe.

When we got to the cafe we found a table near the window. Miles pulled the chair out for me and I thanked him before sitting down. We ordered food and talked for a while.

"So. What do you wanna do now?" Miles asked.

"Let's just walk back." I suggested. "But let's take to scenic routes."

We started walking back and we got halfway through the park when Miles stopped me. We stood there for a moment, staring into each other's eyes then Miles cupped my face and pressed his lips against mine. I froze for a second before kissing back. We kissed for a few minutes then both pulled away.

He grabbed my hand and we walked all the way back to the venue. We got back into the dressing room and I finally didn't feel alone. I didn't feel like a 3rd or 5th wheel. We sat back down and Kayla smiled at me from across the room.

"Let me guess. You two are now dating?" Jack asked smiling.

"Nope." I replied. Harley nodded and stood up.

"Anyone want a drink or anything? Any like candy?"

"I'll come with you. I know all the good Sweet shops." I said getting up

"Bye babe." Zoe mentioned. We left and started walking.

Walking to the closest sweet shop was a long walk so Harley tried to make conversation. "So. You and Miles." He said.

"So you and Zoe." I added.

"So that kiss meant nothing to you?" I stopped dead in my tracks and tried not to flip out at him.

"You're the one who got a girlfriend. You don't want me to be with you. You don't want me to be with someone else. How miserable do I have to be till you're happy?"

"Ava. I-"

"Save it. Let's just get the sweets and go back." I got my earphones out my bag and put them in my ears.

We got to the store and I showed Harley all the good sweets. We practically bought one of everything and then got recognised by the cashier. She knew us both from Dead Roses which was pretty cool.

"So are you two like a thing?" She asked.

"No. He's dating a girl called Zoe." I replied.

"Cool."

We payed for the stuff (with a discount) and had a silent walk back. When we got back I put the sweets and sat next to Miles.

Harley and I were sat across the room from each other when we got called to the stage for sound check.

We went to the stage and did sound check then the rest of panic and a few other bands arrived. I went and found Brendon then sat and watched everyone do soundcheck.
