a week later
we finally got to bring the boys home. we got into the house and the first thing we saw was a banner saying welcome home chris and miles. then, standing in front of the door, was pete, nicole, dan, harley, annie, the rest of dead roses, jack, kayla and their parents.

"welcome home!" they all whisper shouted. i was carrying in chris so they all rushed over to me.

"woah woah woah. stand back and let me put him down." i mentioned. i walked over to the couch and placed his car seat on it. they all walked over and cooed at him.

i stood back and laughed at the sight of grown men and a teenage boy cooing at a week old baby. sarah walked in and laughed at the sight too. brendon put miles down then walked over and put his arm around me and watched the boys. "he'll love you you know." he mentioned.

"i know chris will love me. i'm his sister. and so will miles."

"you know that's not who i'm talking about."

"if this is about harley then don't. i've already started cutting him out of my life without realising. i don't want it to get worse."

"it's true though. you'll get him at some point. maybe it's now. maybe it's in college. you'll never know. but you'll get him. i know that you will."

"thanks dad."

"no problem." at that exact moment harley walked over and pulled me aside.

"can i ask you something?" he asked.

"what?" i replied.

"would you... rejoin the band?" i paused for a minute.

"harley, you know that i c-"

"you don't have to answer me now. just think about it."

"harley. i can't."

"ava. just think about it. i don't need an answer right now but just think about it okay. promise you'll consider it."

"fine."

"thanks."

"i'm gonna go talk to annie." i walked over to annie and stood next to her.

"now you know how i felt when hayley was born." she mentioned.

"yeah i do." i laughed.

"you're lucky. three hit albums. brendon urie's your dad. harley's your best friend. and now you've got two little brothers."

"yeah. i know."

"i mean i've got it pretty good to don't get me wrong but you've got it good too."

"i know. i'm so thankful."

"hey. do you know what harley's tattoos mean?" she was looking over at him talking to pete.

"the one in korean means perfection and the other ones roman numerals i think."

"okay." her phone dinged and she looked at it. "i have to get home. i'll see you later."

"bye annie." she said bye to harley and then left.

"you're jealous." kayla mentioned walking over with jack.

"i'm not." i replied blinking away tears. "i'm going to my room. i have some, um, revision to do for my biology exam." the tears spilt and i ran upstairs to my room.

"ava!" harley exclaimed as i ran past. i ignored him and just continued going up.

i didn't lie. i actually had a biology exam to revise for. i sat at my desk and got my notebook out, getting my revision out and started taking notes.

after about five minutes i lost focus and started crying again. i closed my books and flopped down onto my bed, sobbing into my sheets.

i heard a soft knock on my door so i lifted my head up. "come in." i managed with a broken voice. the door opened to reveal harley with kayla and jack. "nevermind. get out." i put my head back into my blanket and. they walked over.

"ava. you should come downstairs." kayla mentioned.

"i don't want to. i need to study."

"how long have you been studying?"

"20 minutes. i'm just taking a break." i felt someone lift me up and then i was sat on someone's lap.

"ava. open you eyes." harley whispered. i opened them and was met with his hazel ones.

"you know what. we'll leave you two to talk. see you later." kayla said dragging jack out of the room.

"ava. did you think about what i asked you?"

"no. not yet harley. i'll answer you when i have an answer okay." i snapped.

"hey don't talk to me like that. i just asked okay... jeez." he muttered. i slipped off of harley's lap and went over to my laptop. i opened it and my lock screen came up. it was a picture of harley and i hugging at disney land a few months after we started the band. he saw it and a smile crossed his face. "i miss that."

"miss what?" i logged on and opened my notes again.

"how we were when we were at disney."

"yeah but we were also 14. were 16 now. nearly adults. also you ruined it."

"how?"

"you know exactly how."

"if i knew then i wouldn't be asking."

"you know what just get out. i don't wanna talk to you anymore."

"fine by me. don't come crying to me when you have no one to talk to at school." he left the room and i realised what i'd just done.

"shit."

sorry for the kinda short last chapter but this is the end of this book. but it's not the end of harley and ava. yes there will be a book two but it probably won't be up for a few weeks so yeah. hope you enjoyed. bye.
