Chapter 16

"So what are we doing here and why is there a lovely blonde here? Oh! is this a thank you gift for the place?" Shogun said.

Rinko and I just looked at him, Lyn, on the other hand, was smiling a dazzling smile and sitting next to him.

"That's not something to look forward to and she's my cousin so keep your pant up," I said, crossing my arms and gently shaking my head.

Rinko chuckled and let a sly grin grace his face, "Well that's not the first of what they all say about her."

Lyn giggled and nodded, "it wouldn't be the last either."

I nodded and looked at Shogun, "so what did you find out about our higherups?"

Shogun nodded, "As far as I know there was nothing unusual her or there but I have been followed for a while and found a candy shop, nice old lady owns the shop and guess who was there..."

Lyn looked at him and grinned, "Willa Wonka?!"

Rinko and Shogun chuckled at her remark. My face broke into a grin and shook my head, "I don't think that was the case, Lyn," I said, watched as Lyn pouted slightly.

"So what happened? a hit and run? shootout?" Rinko asked.

"I bought a candy while the old lady was ripping my stalkers a new one while I walked out the door," he said.

"Really? that's it?" Lyn said in disbelief.

"That's it," Shogun finished.

"So that's all we got from you, so Rinko what is what you found?" I asked, opening my computer and started trying away.

"Well, I found quite a lot from our higherups in the black market and a little of something else too," he said tossing files and files of my bosses boss, hard to say when you think that you know everything about them, then you're world turns upside down.

"This is quite a file that you found on them," Lyn said, grabbing one and reading it over.

"Yeah well they all have something in common and that's the reason why they all decided to destroy their research and turn it into an attack. Plus they always did have something to hide and they always seemed to rush me when they bring in something new from the underworld," looking through a file and quickly scanning it.

"Well, can you blame them, they wanted power and money to sell to other powerful people, you know and that my underground world is very powerful when it comes to power and knowledge," Shogun said, folding his hands in front of him and leaning back against his chair.

"So what exactly are we looking for?" I asked Ash, as she was taking notes and looking through files o the higher-ups.

"A connection on why they are so interested in his world," Ash said, handing a paper to Rinko, who was typing away on his computer.

I sighed, "Where is Shogun anyways?" leaning back and reading some notes.

"Don't know, last I checked he wanted to go for a walk around the mansion," Ash said, not looking up from her notes.

"Why? It's pitch black out and you never know what out there," I stated, feeling concerned for him.

Rinko tried to hold in a laugh and Ash gave out a slight grin, "Shogun is someone you feed on the dark and eerie, So no we don't have to be worried about him and you shouldn't either," Ash said.

"Well, that's not what my nose said to me earlier," I mocked them.

I hummed a light song as I made my way through the garden

"Still playing the saint in the game, are we?" Said a voice from the shadows.

I chuckled, "well, we all can't be saints like you...and besides one of us has the guts to come forward and face them. It's not you have a connection with them...do you?" looking nothing, keeping my guard up and giving out a faint grin.

A light but taunting giggle was heard everywhere, one thing I hate about this is that they never come out of the shadows and talk face to face. But then again they do have to keep thing interesting.

"You never really did play by the rules did you," a slim figure was slowly making their way to the moonlight, eliminating their features.

I shrugged and smiled at them, "it's always fun to break the rules... wouldn't you say-"
