The music was sutling yet had a little rhyme to it.

The music could be heard throughout the grand mansion, as elegant dresses and expensive suits passed by like a blur. waiters swiftly maneuvered through the crowd, silver plates balanced with shrimp puffs and champagne glasses, conversations of business and gossip bouncing from crowd to crowd.

Cameras flashing and wannabe reporters lining outside by the red carpet.

A silver limo, imported from England, drove up to the crowd. The driver opened the door, holding out a hand for the rider, as a delicate hand came out holding the driver's hand.

Everything felt as if it were in slow motion, the sound faded into the background, the questions dulled out of focus.

"Miss I do believe, you have a red carpet to walk," said the driver.

~'~

I gave him a delicate smirk and looked at the crowd, "I know, I just want to stretch the moment while I can."

The old driver gave me a gentle smile, "I understand."

I rose from the limo, letting my red and black lace dress fall to the ground, " besides, it's my first time on the red carpet, I want to memorize it." Standing upright, letting go of the old driver's hand and placing it on my hip.

The driver chuckled lightly and closed the door, "well, miss have a nice night."

My black heels, clicking softly against the carpet as reports shouted, wanting an interview and cameras flashing brightly.

"Ash, how's it going?" Rose's voice blasted through the hidden mic in my hair.

I flinched slightly but kept the smile on my face, "Rose turn down the volume, everything is good here on the ground." Posing from time to time kept walking until I reached the grand door of the estate.

"Sorry Ash, Rinko was on the bathroom and didn't tell me where the volume was at," Rose said, giggling.

I smiled at the guards and continued to walk through the doors, "alright guys, I am in. let me tell you, it is like the victoria era threw up in here with a dash of modern life." Grabbing a glass of champagne, taking a drink of it.

"Oh~ That's all fancy and stuff, do you see any good-looking men? That don't have a ring, always look out for the rings or else you'll have a hell of a lawsuit," Lyn said, ranting on about how she once had one from a job.

I shook my head in amusement, "Lyn, we have a job to do, not to go fishing for the next bachelor, understand," looking for James, smiling at every guy in the ballroom.

Lyn sighed. "Alright, but seriously, get their number you never know what might happen in the state of mind. Plus you need to get some, you're turning into a Grinch." Rose was giggling in the background.

"What are you guys doing? Lyn, why do you have a notepad? Why is Rose laughing?" Rinko yelled through the mic.

I let them bicker and just wondered with the crowd, talking to businessmen and gossiping with the other wives about the next big scandal, everything was going great with the women when everyone went from friendly chatter to exciting whispers.

The lights dimmed slightly as the crowd gathered towards a stage.

"And now ladies and gentlemen, for the moment you've all been waiting for, the great bidding!" the spokesmen.

Everyone applauded and cheered in excitement.

"Hey? have you guys seen Shogun?" Rinko asked.

I paused and froze for a moment, "what do you mean?"

"I don't know, I thought he was getting dressed?" Lyn said

I rolled my eyes and focused on finding our James Starr.

"And now, the moment you've all been waiting for, your host! James Starr!" the spokesmen said, the crowd buzzing with excitement.

I looked at him, observing him, "wow, he is good looking as he is in magazines." standing next to a marble pillar, crossing my arms and watched him as he made his speech.

~'~

"Guys this isn't good," Rinko said as he muted the volume.

Rose looked at him confused, "what do you mean? Ash is doing well so far, I don't see the problem?"

Rinko was typing frantically, not before he stopped and looked at me with an accusing look, "Lyn."

I crossed my arms and pretended to read a book, "yes?" I asked, not looking away from the page.

"You don't happen to know where Shogun is? do you?" He asked, crossing his arms over his chest and narrowing his eyes at me.

I shrugged and shook my head, "not a clue."

Rose giggled and looked at the screen, "hey, instead of trying to figure out where he is, focus on where he will be at."

At the moment, Rose unmuted the computer and was about to say something when Ash whispered something in Russian.

"Ash, what's wrong? Did something happen?" Rinko asked sternly.

"No, it's something worse," her voice, laced with anger.

"What?" asked Rose.

I giggled slightly and just watched the two, panic over something they aren't supposed to suspect yet.

"Shogun is on the stage with Starr," Ash said tightly, the sound of heels clicking against the floor rapidly, "I'm going to kill him."
