Chapter 17

"Shogun where have you been!" I asked him as he came through the door, trying to be as quiet as a mouse in a church.

He flinched and looked at me with an innocent smile, "Ash, I didn't know you'd be up this late."

I glared at him, not moving from my stool and crossing my arms, "that's not the point, the point is that you never go out this late! what if someone from the institute found you wandering around and decided to kidnap you and experimented? or they have to go to the underworld and bring back some items that they want? or if they want to make them immortal as you? then what am I going to do?"

Shogun looked at me like I was crazy and then he laughed.

"What's so funny?" I asked slowly.

"Nothing it's just that," he wiped a stray tear and sat next to me, "you've never been this concerned about me before."

I looked away and scoffed, "yeah well, I need you alive, and just cause your immortal it doesn't mean that you're indestructible."

He nodded, "true, but I've brushed with death many times and let's face it, I'm the prince of the underworld! I'll be reincarnated as many times as I want."

I rolled my eyes, "yeah, if you keep doing that you'll have many lives left to be coming back."

Shogun smirked and stood up from his stool and walked away, "see you in the morning," and with that, he closed the door.

Rinko chuckled lightly as we watched the feed from the kitchen, "she is going to kill us."

I rolled my eyes, "you need to chill for a moment and just think of what we just saw! I mean we just saw some real love right there!"

Rinko sighed and shook his head in dismay, "I keep wondering if your the sensible one on the group or not."

I pouted slightly, "you're not fun when it comes to love anymore. Oh~does this have to do with a certain brunette?"

RInko stiffened and looked anywhere but me, "W-What? N-no, I have no idea what you're talking about!!"

I laughed so hard that he turned red and looked away with a huff, I swear if Rose was here and saw how he was she would be matchmaking all day long, but then again when wasn't she matchmaking? 

"Relax~ it isn't something to be embarrassed about," I said setting my arm on his shoulder as he flinched, "all thought, you've got to admit she does have a body~"

If I wasn't watching him with interest I could've sworn that he turned even redder with the thought of her body like that. 

I smirked and looked at him with a sly grin on my face, "still thinking about it aren't you~"

Damn that woman is going to be the death of me!

First, she fangirls over them being so close and started rambling about love and then she starts to make me wonder about her body!

I need a break, "Would you stop with the love and shit, damn you're starting to sound like Rose when she sees someone to ship with."

She huffed and crossed her arms, "not my fault you have an obsession with her since we've met her you know."

"How is it not your fault!? You put that in my mind!" I exclaimed.

She chuckled, "And I'm not the one in control of your mind~ So don't go playing the blame game, alright."

I sighed and nodded, "Just don't tell Rose about it will you."

She smiled and nodded, "I can't make any promises!"

I frowned and looked down, "I should've known that you would say something like that."

She laughed, "And I'll always be the same, now It's time for us to sleep, we don't want them to know that we were spying now," she said, getting up and leaving through the window, considering that we have our rooms next to each other.

I sighed and logged off the computer and leaned against the stair and looked out the window and into the night sky.

Things have gotten a bit boring since the gang split up and went their own way a few years back, with Ash she had a job with some people and even with her degree she managed to take a job with the institute and kept a low profile since then. Rose went to Italy and went off the radar after two weeks of our split. Lyn was just traveling here and there since she is wanted and shit, she was like a ghost appearing and reappearing from time to time. And well Raven... three days before we all decided to have our separate ways, she disappeared and we haven't seen her since.

And with this Shogun guy coming out and then almost everyone came crawling out of the dark and stood by his side, first it was Ash, Rose, and now Lyn. The only person left was Raven. I can see that everyone was on the edge, understanding that they were expecting to see Raven coming knocking on the door.
