Suddenly

Chapter 1

SUKHI's POV

I was never a fan of clouds and rainy days, it always made me feel lonely and lazy but here I was in the beautiful city of London, where the sun was usually missing. The reason why I chose this city was because my parents trusted Neelam and I knew they would have let me come here and start my carrier as an airport hostess. Moreover, I wouldn't have faced my parents telling me to get married, I've studied hard to be an independent girl that can earn and live on her own and I was not going to waste all my efforts by getting married just like that.

After collecting my luggage I started to look for Neelam, there were many people outside the airport and my eyes were looking for my friend and just then I recognised a familiar face in the crowd. I immediately started to walk to her with a smile.

"Hey, how are you? It's been so long" she said as we gave each other a small hug "I'm good, how about you? I hope I didn't disturbed you" I said and Neelam gave a look "Don't start with this" and I laughed "Thanks for letting me stay here with you" I said while looking at her "No problem, you are always welcome here" Neelam said with a warm smile and I did the same.

We decided to have dinner in a small restaurant, where we talked about our past experiences and future goals, it felt like the distance we had the past few years never existed. After that, we decided to go back home. Her house was a medium sized white building similar to the others next to it. I didn't know how was going to recognise it from all those houses, just then I saw the small garden in the front. The grass was well kept and there were small lights guiding to the main door. As she opened the black main door, I already felt like I was at home. There was a living room with Neelam's favourite colour furniture, two black sofas with a small black table in the center and a television matching with the furniture. The walls were white and in fact, next to the living room there was a white kitchen with a black fridge, oven and a combination of other furniture of black colour.

"Wow Neelam, this house is really beautiful" I said amazed while gazing the stairs that were leading upstairs. "Thanks, you should have seen it before, it was a mess" she informed me smiling "I am really proud of you" I complimented her as we sat in the living room. "You should be" she laughed and I followed her, just then her phone buzzed and she sighed.

"Tomorrow I have to go to work" Neelam said "Oh, don't worry, work is important, I will stay at home" I told her, I didn't want her to skip her work because of me. I always hated when people used "sacrifice" something for me, like 'Guys, do you work..I am good'.

"No, I don't want you to stay home alone" she replied giving me a serious look and I sighed I knew what she meant. "I know, I almost set a fire in the kitchen in Italy, but that happened when I was sixteen, I can handle now" I explained her while giving her a reassuring smile. "You know when it comes to you, I get worried because you are really.. you are.." she stopped trying to figure out the word "Clumsy?" I helped her "Yeah Clumsy, so you have to come with me" she said and I was surprised.

"Wha-how?" I asked her confused and surprised "It's just a week, I will be more relieved to see you on board than calling you every minute" she explained and I felt bad. Here I was, a burden for her "But I don't want to disturb" I told her "Oh you will not, in fact I've already decided I will work and in the meanwhile you will do whatever you want" she said and I looked at her feeling a little uncomfortable. "Listen, normally we can bring a family member or a friend on board, so, Don't feel bad. I've always wanted to take you there and this is a good opportunity" Neelam said and I smiled nodding.

"Be ready for tomorrow morning and please don't be late. I know you very well, that's why you have to put ten alarms every minute because I want you awake at five" Neelam said "Yes sir, I mean M'am" I said while standing up "But I have a question: Will there be a library or a cinema on the cruise?" I asked curious and she smirked "You will know it" she winked and I sighed "That's not fair, How am I supposed to sleep now? You know I get curious" I told her whining "Simple, our rooms are upstairs. Yours on the right and mine on the left. Now if you excuse me, I have to sleep because I have to get up really early, Goodnight" Neelam smiled and went upstairs leaving me there curious and excited.

As expected I couldn't sleep, I was just laying on my bed facing the ceiling after packing for the cruise, actually I didn't even needed since everything was already packed, I just took a few things out that I didn't need. My bedroom was decorated with my favourite colour, I've always thought that Neelam used to joke about decorating a room in her house for me, but I guess she was serious when I saw blue curtains, blue bedsheets and a blue dressing table and an empty library. I couldn't feel less special and excited to bring my stuff in this room and make it look like mine. Just then the thought of being in a cruise popped in my mind and I could feel the adrenalina and the anxiety rise upon me. 

I've never went on a cruise, I barely even know how it looks? What if anything happens? NO! I should think positive, it's not Titanic, I wonder why do I always create problems with my own thought?

I took the teddy bear which Neelam gave me after stealing it from her cousin for me,since I've always had a habit of sleeping while hugging something soft and I was so grateful to have someone like her taking care of me in every way. After yawning for the hundredth time I decided that it was better to go to sleep since tomorrow I needed to get up early. After wishing myself all the luck for tomorrow I switched off the light and fell asleep.

~Next morning~

I felt someone shaking me and a voice yelling "Wake up" while I was trying to sleep and I sighed, I knew Mum was trying to wake me up because I needed to do some chores. "Mum, five more minutes and I will do anything" I pulled the blanket over my head continuing sleeping until the person yelled in my ear a "Wake up" louder than before and for a moment I felt my heart exploding and I found myself on the cold floor from the sudden action. I looked up at Neelam dumbfounded "Hey, are you always nice as a feather at five o' clock?" I asked her sarcastically after looking at the time while caressing my butt which was now hurting "Very funny, Sukhi. I would have been more nice if we didn't have to go on the cruise" she said crossing her arms "Cruise?!" I asked her and started looking for my phone "I forgot to put the alarm" I told her "I knew it, that's why I came to wake you up" Neelam said while pushing me in the bathroom "Wow Sis, you are the best" I said to her and she rolled her eyes "Just get ready" Neelam ordered and I went inside.

~On the cruise~

"Sukhi" Neelam called me while I was admiring the inside of the so called cruise, I looked at her "Can you take the bags in our room? These are the number and the key of the room, just follow that corridor and you will find the rooms. I have to go to my office for a moment" she told me and I nodded taking the key and number and the bags towards the direction she told me. After an eternity I finally found the room. I put the bags on the floor taking a breath and I turned the key in the keyhole but surprisingly the door was already unlocked. I opened it of which was supposed to be MY room and that's when I saw something I could have never imagined, an half naked boy making out with a girl on the bed. The keys that I was holding fell on the floor, that's when they realised that I was there. Great start. They both looked at me confused and surprised waiting for me to speak up "Ehm..Sorry to disturb your moment, but I think you got the wrong room. This is mine" I said while underlining the "mine". It was really disgusting and awkward to be in that room, but that was mine and I didn't care if they wanted to continue doing what they were doing, all I wanted was my room and them out of it. Suddenly, the half naked boy got up and started coming closer, just then I noticed him. He wasn't that bad, he was good looking and cute, I thought but soon scolded myself for thinking that way about a random half naked guy who was in my room. I took a step back as he brought his face a few centimeters from mine and I could already feel the heat increasing on my cheeks. 

"Do you know who I am, sweetheart?"
