Chapter 32

SUKHI's POV

Two days has been passed and I still couldn't figure out how I was supposed to tell my parents about the news. Neelam kept saying that she would handle everything but I also knew that she herself was nervous about that too.

I went quickly downstairs and I found Neelam in the kitchen sitting and thinking about something while the boys were talking with each other in the living room.

I felt like all this situation was a mess because of me. I ruined everything.

'I need to talk with my parents' I said to myself and entered in the kitchen and quickly took the phone.

"Oh hey Sukhi, do you need something?" Neelam asked me softly and I shook my head, after giving her a small smile I went in my room and sat on my bed.

I started to dial the number "What are you doing?" a voice behind me spoke making me jump in the fear, the person came closer and sat next to me.

I sighed and looked at the floor "Everything is getting worse day by day and everyone is stressed because of this situation...so I thought that it's better if I end this by telling the truth to my parents. After all, I am their daughter and they have to know it, I am ready to hear every curse they will say to me because I know, they have the right to say" I said still looking down at the white floor covered by a blue carpet.

Ahaan took my hand and hold it "I am with you" he said while making me face him"I will always be with you, no matter what will happen in the future, my heart will always beat for you and my eyes will always look for yours, I love you" he said and I looked at him with my teary eyes and he hugged me tightly while caressing my hair "I-I love you too" I finally said and hugged him back.

I let out a long breath before tapping the green button of the phone while Ahaan was still there holding my hand reassuring me that everything was going to be fine and I nodded.

After hearing three long rings finally someone picked the phone up "Hello?" a sweet female voice talked and I could feel my heart beating fast "Hello?" she asked again "H-hello M-mum" I finally decided to talk "Sukhi? How are you?" she asked me and I could feel Ahaan's grip on my hand tightening "M-mum I need-d t-to tell you s-something...something tha-that you will not li-like it" I blabbered "What is it? Is everything ok there? What's up with your voice? Are you sick?...speak Sukhi Please" she asked me and I just tried not to burst in tears. "M-mum, I am really s-sorry...m-mum I-I am pr-pregnant" I spoke and I could hear the silence on the other side "Mum?" I called her "Tell me it's a joke. Please...tell me that it's just a prank. If it's true you know what your father will do to you, right?! How could that happened? Sukhi, you just ruined our reputation" she said desperate "Mum, I am sorry" I said and started to cry "Sukhi? You disappointed us. I still can't believe it that you did this, you weren't supposed to do this. Me and your father trusted you and we even forgave you about leaving the house because we knew that you are mature enough to understand the situation but no!" she said frustrated and I sobbed apologising "I still can't believe this, do you even realise what you did?! Do you even know in what situation you put yourself? I'm pretty sure that guy you slept with, just used you" She said in disgust and I looked at Ahaan.

"Mum, H-he is h-here" I said with a shaky voice "W-What?" she asked surprised not expecting, I looked at Ahaan again and he nodded taking the phone from my hand.

"Hello?" he spoke up "Who are you?" my mum asked him "Ahaan, Ahaan Panday" he talked confident "Aunty? Listen, I know you are disappointed and you have the right to be, after all she is your daughter, I am really sorry for what happened-" the lady who gave me the birth interrupted him "I don't care anything...I-I don't need your apologies or something... my daughter's life is ruined and who will take her as wife? Who will love her? Who will save the reputation of my family? Tell me. Who will save my daughter's future?" she asked desperately and I could feel that she was crying on the other side, every word that was coming from her mouth was breaking my heart slowly.

"Aunty, you don't have to worry about that, I will take care of your daughter, I will be the one to give her a bright future to keep her happy every time she will be sad or upset. I will hold her hand for the rest of my life and I promise to you that you will never see your daughter crying ever again. I will be the father of our child and that's not because I'm pitying on her. No, I love her more than you can imagine it, I am willing to do it" Ahaan said.

I just couldn't stop looking at him, he was sacrificing everything just to be with a normal girl like me.

"Every time she smiles, my heart skip a beat, her voice makes my day, your daughter is my life and I swear, without her I can't breath and I am not telling you these things just to win your heart but I really can't do anything without Sukhi. She is my everything" he continued while looking at me, for him I was ready to give my everything just to be loved by him, tears were flowing down my cheeks by everything he was saying.

I was everything for him but he was more than that for me, he was the key of my happiness and my escape from the cruel reality. If I learned the real meaning of love it was because of him, because of the boy sitting right next to me.

"Are you really willing to do that? Look son, if you really love my daughter from the bottom of your heart, I will try to speak with my husband but if you are trying to fool me and my daughter, then I am begging you to stop" my mum said and I just looked at his smile curving on his face assuring me that he had everything in control.

"I am not trying to fool you. I am ready to make her my life partner for the rest of my life. I really love her, aunty" Ahaan said still holding my small hand in his big one caressing it. "You promise me?" my mum asked "I promise you" he finally said and my mum hung up by saying that she will talk to my father about the situation.

He looked at me and found me already staring at him with tears in my eyes, he slowly loosened the grip of his hand and wiped them "You don't have to worry about anything, everything will be fine, I am with you Sukhi and I will always be there for you no matter what" he said while caressing my soft and pale cheeks. Suddenly, I leaned myself towards him and kissed him, he looked surprised at first by my sudden move but then he kissed me back smiling between it and I could feel my cheeks getting red but at that moment I didn't care about anything, I just wanted to be with him.
"I love you, Ahaan" I said breaking the kiss and holding his hand "I love you too" he said with his husky voice and kissed my forehead making me smile.

in my life
It was when
I gave my heart
to him.
